This one is different.

An error in playing suggested the sequence to me. I keyed the two-note (A and A#) sequence into the microbrute and started playing with settings. When I had a pretty nice sound I enabled the flanger on my BR-600 recorder. Suddenly, I was joined by Pete Townshend and the ghost of Nicky Hopkins.

OK, slight exaggeration. But seemingly out of nowhere I'm hearing chords and arpeggios that I'm not playing! All the harmonics are audible and the flanger is filtering them in and out, and even left and right - quite a neat trick for a monophonic synth!

I recorded a couple of versions where I also manually adjusted cut-off but I like this "unassisted" version best. Once everything was set up, all I did was hold down a key for ten @#$% minutes.

If you want it to sound like redundant shite, put it on the speakers and go in the other room. If you want hear it like I did, listen through some good headphones.
