Now this one sounds VERY calming and serene; I could listen to this while trying to ease my mind or maybe while sitting on a nice quiet island beach (like in the cover art, lol). Mono Tragedy....I'd say it's more of a Mono Sendoff. _________________ I'm an aspiring artist, and I also aspire to inspire! =D |

The idea was philosophical. It should sound white and dry but cold. I used about 30 different EQs for this pretty quiet melodic ambient piece to make it sound perfect audiophile forever. I studied audio engineering and the idea was to create and design a audiophile piece of music and sound that would sound perfect forever without any wrong sounding elements.
The idea was to use a high dynamic range of mono areas and fade stereo quality very slow into this mono piece. The loudness is more quiet and sweet. I used many different limiters to make super fine adjustments. Worked about 8 weeks just on the basic frequency mixing.
On a high fidelity speaker system, it sounds brilliant. Of course this version here is low quality after it got converted online. I used just a 32 Bit version to release and convert it online. I used the AKG 701 headphone and its really about philosophical sound ideas. |

So, with your philosophical vision and techniques applied, you have achieved (after rigorous hard work, I might add) the "Fountain of Music"? According to your description of how you've created this song, it will last throughout the ages as a "perfect piece", correct? _________________ I'm an aspiring artist, and I also aspire to inspire! =D |

Well this here is just the low quality version for YouTube. The offline version sounds so much better because the quality is "untouched". Its not possible to make it sound to make everyone happy, but I really did a big study and compared the best sounding ambient and electronica albums with my piece to get a better and best possible quality of transients and the finer energy between the peaks of frequencies. Its not easy and I could do it better these days but it really was a nice little project to work that intense.
It should sound white and not dark. Dark sounds contain a lot of distortions and phase errors. And a very expanded stereo sound also contains a lot problems for sound qualities. So a extremly dry and white sound in mono should be a noble idea. But I tried to make it go slowly stereo trough a morphin process. Not sure how it sounds on other sound systems, but on my AKG 701 headphones it sounded brilliant. I found out that less volume sounds better, so its a bit silent.
I know it sounds arrogant and stupid, but yes I loved the idea to dive into philosophical sound engineering to see how far I can push sound quality. Good sound has nothing to do with high resolution or gear for thousands of dollars. Its really about finetuning and this needs time. Maybe months or a year for one mixing and mastering per piece. |
