Allright then. Oskar challenged everyone to make a version I-Feel-Like-I’m-Fixin’-to-Die Rag by Country Joe and The Fish (read here). Here's one. Lyrics by Joe McDonald, everything else by me.

I would not have been able to tell what the words were if you wound have told me. The "tune" does have that feel though. Smile

Thanks for the comments!

I'm going to make a new version of this when I have time. The mixing is off.

You took the challenge, you crazy Finn! Great version, a radical rethink, as it were. I don't really hear anything wrong with the mix, but you have to decide that for yourself!

there was just a copyright case on this tune. i think it was a kid ory tune that his decendants claimed was copied by country joe....country joe won (i think because of how long it took to bring the suit). btw, he is still around (a few years ago we played at the terrastock festival in seattle, country joe was also on the bill).

Hmmm. Do you think this mp3 should be removed from here? After all, it is legal to take parts of existing works of art and use them in a context that somehow creates a new work (for example a parody of the original). But then again, these things are considered in the court and I am not that keen to start anything like that. Especially when I like the original version as much as I do in this case.

Moderators, feel free to remove the file, if you think it's necessary.

The copyright battle concerned the music, not the words.
