Using Random Controllers and Enemy (NME)

This article deals with two utilities special made to the Nord Modular. Both are very usefull generating sounds with very flexible tweaking possibilities. The first one, Random Controllers, is designed by Palle Dahlstedt. It generates an ad random MIDI signal, which is sent to the Nord Modalar. In the examples there are only 25 parameters assigned to the MIDI controllers, because later on they will be transformed to a Morph group, which is limited to 25. The Patch used is made by Au!, formed by Paul Klaui and Jan Börchers.

(Note indicators CC 22 and CC25 are behind CC 5 and CC 24)

Connect the MIDI out of the Random Controller to the right channel and push the button. A second option is to run the aplication in a to be set timing, so it will change constantly. An interesting setting can be saved in the Editor.

If two sounds are generated and are judged to be perferct to use, NME, designed by Jason Wiggens, can create these two different settings in one Patch, using a Morph to change one into the other and every setting between them. [Opening Patch 1 and Patch 2 > make Morphs > Save]

In the list 'Patch Source' the section [MorphMapDump] is added. The program also adds some extra Notes. Note: the utility also removes the MIDI CC and Knob assignments and changes the ModuleNames to default, which means Mr Klaui's name is removed from Mr Adam Davidson's original Patch J
