Spacializer Module

Here's a quick technical description of how the Spacializer works: The Spacializer module accomplishes spacialization of your audio signal on the stereo left and stereo right outputs. This is done with a buffered voltage division ladder and a dual 4 input MUX. The voltage division ladder provides four images, ranging from zero to full scale, of the buffered input signal. The buffer is just a voltage follower that ensures proper low source impedance for the voltage division ladder. Then the MUX selects from a combination of four left/right volume taps off of the voltage division ladder, creating the stereo images. This module will soon be available in our store.

So that's how it works, how do we use it in a circuit? Well, we simply plug it into the breadboard and hook up all the signals beginning with VDD and Ground. Inhibit is an optional signal that has an internal pull-down resistor. If you want to suppress the output for some reason, say because you are connecting more than one module with Inhibit to the output signals, then just drive Inhibit high to VDD to activate it.

The A In and B In signals are inputs that select what stereo image is to be displayed. The choices are left, left-of-center, right-of-center, and right. Then you just apply your audio to the Audio In signal and connect the Stereo L and Stereo R outputs to the corresponding signals on a Stereo Out module and you've got Spacialized audio!
