welcome to electro-music.com Summer!

the SR88? Throw it in the bin?!? hehe No, seriously now- you could start by simply plugging it in. It won't work at all until you plug an output lead in. Then turn the volume knob round- with a click turning it on. Then press start. Does it make a sound- when plugged into an amp?

These units are simple as chips. If your unit has anything programmed into it it should be making a noise. If not, it's either knackered or you need to do some programming.

There are two square buttons next to one another. If you put the unit into record mode tap on these buttons in a random roundabout manner, switch it back into playback mode and press play gain (usually one of the same two buttons that you were just programming with!!

After you've done all that, report back to us Smile

hmm- try using fresh batteries (and a power adaptor- to whatever all those AA cells add up to). The switch may be knackered too. try wiggling it back and forth. You may also have a cracked circuit board. If none of the above work, open it up and check for dry joints and cracks on the board.

good luck!

Sorry to dredge up an old topic but I hope someone can help me!

Have bought one of these primarily to trigger an analog sequencer. However I can't seem to write any patterns into it, have taken the batteries out and left it for 5 mins then go back and all I seem to get are snare heavy patterns. Take batteries out again and the same happens, overwriting using different sounds in write mode has no effect of the "snariness" of it!

Any ideas?
