Any help would be very apreciated.

If we take a frequence increment the frequency, either up or down, we will be able to alter the frequency before any parceptible changeis noticed. The theroy based around this phenomenon is hat we can hear to a resoloution of 6-15 cents.

If we use 8cents as our reference what is the minimum perceptible frequency change that humans can hear for a tone played two octaves above A4, A4 itself, and also two octaves below A4?

The perceptible difference in frequency varies with the frequency.
At 50Hz it is about a semitone, and at 1000Hz it is about 1/12 of a semitone.
At above 5kHz it is difficult to distinguish the frequency at all.

There is a case where all this breaks down, and it's possible to hear very tiny differences in frequencies. This is binaural node.

Play two tones (sines) in your two ears using headphones. Tune one, say in the left ear, to 800 HZ. and the other one to 800.5 Hz. You will perceive the difference as a swirling sensation at 0.5 Hz, or one revolution per two seconds.

Sorry to confuse the issue. Twisted Evil
