OMG! Shocked

That's so embarrassing, I had to turn it off just after the (highly predictable) breakbeats kicked in! Embarassed

I'm curious to know if this is new or not?

I dunno about Orbital. I used to dig them (way back in the early to mid 1990's), but they sound so dated nowadays (I got a copy of the Brown Album last summer, after loosing my previous copy, but after listening to it once more, I realised why I had 'lost' it).

Sorry Paul. I still love you, although we haven't spoken since 1995 Embarassed Embarassed Shocked Exclamation

Hey! I like that album! Sure, it's not "today" but neither do the Beatles sound like Avril Lavigne (and that's a GOOD THING).

Erm... not to say that the brown album is as good as the Beatles best work Rolling Eyes but some of the album is still charming. I think the Lush 3 - Impact - Remind triptych holds up pretty well even if the rest doesn't.

And the fact that Halcyon+on+on got appropriated for the Mortal Kombat movie is a priceless bit of kitsch!

Yes and I did too especially after that bit with the Withnail and I sample about stopped clocks- and then that >monster< bass kicks in Cool

But it's those ethnic samples- you know, the swirly singing ones....well they all sound a bit 1994 don't they?? Shocked Rolling Eyes

Actually I'm just listening to Impact/ Remind right now (on very loud of course!- ahh the joy of headphones!! Cool ) I do remember dancing my sweet feet off to Remind one morning at 6am (I used to rig for underground clubs in both Bristol and Birmingham (yes I know, we all rigged for clubs back then I hear you cry! Laughing ), until I knackered my back after helping shift a PA Shocked ).

Orbital? Yes they are good at times, bad at others- like everything I guess? They're also very 'English sounding' if you get what I mean- Dr Who would make sense I suppose then?

Personally I was always a Meat Beat Manifesto sort of bloke. I defy anyone to suggest that there is a better breakbeat-type driven LP than "99%" - one of MBM's best ever creations I reckon.
