MUX modules at audio rate, please |
 |
|
I'd like the MUX modules, especially the XMUX, to adapt to audiorate when being controlled by a signal of audio bandwitdh.
(Eg. driving the XMUX with a triangle oscillator and hooking 8 envelopes to its inputs would make a nice advanced morphing wavetable oscillator.) |

Yes
It would become a waveform constructor. Very handy imho.
Very good suggestion Tim. _________________ Grtz Wan |

Well, you can already do this stuff with the CtrlSeq module. But this way would give you dynamic control over the levels.
Also, I find it inconsistent that some of the G2 modules optimize to audiorate when being plugged into by an audio signal, whereas some others do not.
I'd like this optimisation scheme be consistently applied to all modules. This would enable alot more fun audio stuff like eg. applying the NoteScaler modulo trick to waveforms, muxing/demuxing at audiorate to generate new waveforms on the fly, etc. |

I agree here.
Just one thing though I think the current optimizer makes wrong decisions occasionaly, unwanted ones at other times, making signals red where they could/should be blue.
I'd also like to have more control making signals blue wwithout using a special extra module for that. Maybe with blue / red selection buttons on outputs, or maybe by having two versions of most modules. _________________ Jan

Oh, yes, absolutely.
I often have the feeling that Clavia has been uber-careful to make the G2 as simple as possible to use, in order not to scare off potential buyers. I understand that position. I think this is the reason why they made the blue/red optimisation automatic rather than manually controlled.
However, to paraphrase Confucius, control is always better than trust.
I think a blue/red bandwidth toggling button would be easier than having two versions of modules. This way, you could change the bandwidth whenever you need to, while patching, and there wouldn't be as many modules to choose from in the menu tabs.
I think this could be a new wish list entry in itself. |

Agreed, but thought it good to be mentioned here as well to intruduce a little caution for overhasted developers (ehm, who ? where ?) _________________ Jan
