Flock, from Cape Town, South Africa |
 |
|
Hi everyone.
I'm from a little place called Cape Town, in sunny South Africa. I have only recently started tinkering with electronic music. Up untill now I have concentrated mostly on instrumental music.
I have played the drums in several bands and even though percussion is my first-love, I have always prefered woodwinds and brass.
At the moment I am part of a small outfit that makes mostly afro-fusion music. Being in South Africa, we play mostly outdoors, by the light of the moon. We have an awesome view of Table bay, the location of the famous Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned), on the one side, with a stunning view of table Mountain on the other.
We would like to fuse our african rhythm with electronic music, so we will be setting up a recording studio towards the end of the year.
Other than music, I love outdoor life, nature, languages, poetry, Capoeira, philosofy and psychology.
If I'm not doing one of the above, then I'm sleeping.
Visit my work-in-progress website: http://ramblings4.tripod.com
It's a bit strange, but that's just me. I haven't set up anything about my music yet, but u can see a pic of my drum, she's a real beauty.
Well, that's about it from me.
Hope to hear from you guys.
ciao,
Flock |

Welcome, Flock.
I checked out your web site. The pics indicate you live in a beautiful location.
I'm reposting this notice. I'll be sure to make sure it's not here in Pennsylvania.

Has anyone seen my espresso machine?
It seems to have grown legs and gone missing.
Although this is an extremely neat trick on the espresso machine's part, it leaves me without a means of get my caffiene rush.
I just hope that he hasn't taken to the streets. He's Italian, and doesn't speak English.
You might have noticed that he keeps to himself. |

| Quote: | | Legend tells us coffee was accidentally discovered in Middle Italy. The story goes that one day, Karolus, a likeable goatherder, waited in vain all night for his herd to return from grazing. The next morning, he discovered his herd dancing around a cluster of shiny, dark-leafed shrubs with red berries. Karolus found it was the red berries from the shrubs that were behind all of this odd behavior. After tasting the berries, Karolus, too, began to dance with the goats. |

I somehow think that Karolus might have been on something else other than Coffee beans, to make him see his goats dancing. Last time i checked, Coffee doesn't have an halucinogenic effect. Although I wish it did. |
