Hi.

Blanomus stands for "Black Noise Music". I'm also known as "Black Castle" on the Dutch Synthforum. This more "international" forum is a useful addition.
I'm 57 years jung and started when I was 20, in the pre synthesizer/PC era, with experimental tapemusic. At 26 (after 16 years working as a Dental technician) I did a coarse in "Sonology" and after that started to work as sound technician.
I have a broad musical interest and whas initially inspired by jazz (Dizzy gillespie, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, e.o.) and "music concrete" and other tapemusic (Luc Ferrari, Pierre Henry, Jan Boerman, Morton Subotnic e.o.). But my first iniation in modern music was Bela Bartok's "Concert for orchestra"
P.S. I am allso a big fan of Frank Zappa

Welcome to electro-music.com. welcome

You are a youngster. I just turned 58. Laughing

We share a lot of musical influences, particularly, Coltrane, Zappa and Bartok. Lately, I've been trying to open up to some of the younger musicians working on more beat oriented electronic music. Some of it is really great, and some is really boring. Of course, one could say that about all kinds of music.

Anyway. Glad to have you here.

Normally on music forums I'm the old guy (at 33) compared to the youngin's in college, but I feel positively young compared to you lot! Very Happy (it's a joke!)

We share some very common influences in jazz and Bartok, etc. I was never heavily exposed to music concrete so can't comment much there (I've since heard snippets now and then.) My introduction to tape loops and messing with sound in somewhat non-tradtional ways was via Cabaret Voltaire.

I heard them jamming together in your music.

Good to see you here.

i think it'd be great to have bartok and zappa write a framework for an improv bach/coltrane duet. or maybe tagteam, like bartok and coltrane vs. zappa and bach. and have stockhausen in zappa/bach's corner like burgess meredith, and a young stravinsky in bartok/coltrane's. i'd buy the pay-per-view for that
