I tried your files in my machine and they work fine (rather heavy bass, a synth sound, a cello like sound and a Rhodes...)
Your files have been in my machine, I converted them into single SysEx files, which are all Global Midi 16.
First suggestion: change the Global Midi channel [Shift+Midi(2x)] and scroll to channel 16. Send your Midi file as usual. If this doesn't work, try the 15 other ones

Second suggestion: If you are on a Windows machine go to
http://nm-archives.electro-music.com/020_NordLead2/023_Miscellaneous/NordGenerator_Editor/
NordGen is able to handle *.ngf *.syx and *.mid files. If you drag&drop a Midi file into it, it opens all the Programs at once.

Whoa, Wout. Thank you!!! What a welcoming. That is extremely kind of you.
Is there something within the original sysex I posted that would require my Nord to be set to Global 16 to receive? I may have changed that at some point.
Edit--hrmm, just tried that myself and no luck. I'll read the threads you posted and see if I can't figure something out. Otherwise I may have to enlist your help again . Thanks again so much. |

Ahah. That must be it!
Now that I've changed the Global Chan to 16..some of the new ones I dumped last night are not being received--so that definitely changes everything!. I read that first thread, but can you help me decode for sure--what global midi channel was used initially for the file posted? Thanks!
Edit: Ok..so it looks like I must've had the Nord set to Global Chan 1 for all of these. Oops! I thought this was a big no no. Perhaps thats why recalling patches sometimes sounded different than when they were dumped? If you can tell me again what to focus on to determine global midi chan in the sysex file, that would be a huge help. |

I mean, not the ones I converted to Global Ch 16, but those 36 Program which were also 'wrong'.
Those new ones were saved on another Global Ch, weren't they?
I use Global Ch 16 by default, because it won't interfere with other channels, like using Program Change.
I think you used Global 11 | Quote: | | 4D 54 68 64 00 00 00 06 00 00 00 01 01 E0 4D 54 72 6B 00 00 02 95 00 FF 03 0F 4E 6F 72 64 20 4C 65 61 64 20 32 78 20 20 31 00 FF 04 0C 4E 6F 72 64 20 4C 65 61 64 20 32 78 00 FF 58 04 04 02 18 08 00 FF 59 02 00 00 00 FF 54 05 21 00 00 00 00 00 FF 51 03 07 62 1E 00 FF 51 03 07 62 1E 87 09 F0 81 0A 33 00 04 00 03 0F 04 06 04 0B 02 00 00 01 01 09 05 05 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 08 05 0E 07 00 00 08 01 06 06 04 05 00 00 07 05 00 00 06 01 03 06 0B 03 09 05 0A 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 0C 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 01 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 08 00 F7 | But what the 81 stands for...

Wout, correct--I am able to load the old ones now which I thought were corrupt!--the ones I uploaded. All I had to do was change the Global Channel back to 1--which I guess was what it was set to when I originally dumped these.
I did not realize that had an impact. Likewise, the ones I was dumping last night that were working--the synth was set to global channel 8. So when I changed it from 8, those ones no longer worked either! Unless of course that synth was set back to 8. So I think I'm all good now. Thanks so much for the tips!!! |

Last tip:
Better upload all those strange files in the Global Midi that they need, change the Global to 16 and save again. I know, it's a bit of work, but you'll work uniform and are able to upload all the programs in the Archive too. Will keep you busy with Christmas

| Thanks Wout! That's a great idea. I will do that--and since I've added a new interface, all the input channels are a little funny on these projects too--so I've got to get all that back in order too. Definitely will keep me busy, but totally worth it. |
