Hi,

Could you tell me if its possible to build the SL (and other projects), without a oscilloscope?
I would love one, but they are too expensive and I'm having a baby (not me the wife, I'm just fat), so all my money is spoken for..

Cheers

Daz

PS I actually only own a multimeter...

Yes, bulit my soundlab without scope. Rays documentation makes it near
idiot-proof myself as an example.
follow directions and should come out fine

I don't have a CRO either. Crying or Very sad
A fairly decent multimeter is very handy. Especially one which does frequency. But even then, it's not a neccessity.
I found Winscope for the PC to be very handy, if you want to check the shape of waves. I also have an old version of SoundForge which has a real time spectrum analyser built in, which is handy. I think it's a free download now.
Like I was saying the other day on another thread, your multimeter is your best friend. If you're just getting started in SDIY, taking on a project like the SoundLab is heaps easier if you can quickly and easily check resistor values etc. with a multimeter. It will save you a lot of needless mistakes and hairpulling.

BTW Ever noticed that they don't make CROs which only go up to 25KHz? If they did, they'd probably only cost $100 and I'd get one tomorrow. Laughing
