hello!

more questions from the analogue n00b Embarassed

if i build the 16 step sequencer from the boards do i have to use the analogue and the digital or what?

it has ext clk in...is there any way i can sync it up to my midi gear?

if i can't sync it with midi gear then are there any simple diy solutions that would allow me to do that?

I havn't built that sequencer, but I'm thinking about building one.

I think you need both the analog and the digital PCB's to build it.

The digital board drives the sequencer and the analog board switches the control voltage from each set of coarse and fine pots to the output.

The clock is to sync it to other analog sequencers with a clock input I think, but I have no idea with the midi-stuff... I guess a clock-to-midi converter Confused

There's a PIC chip you can get from Blacet Labs that converts MIDI to 5pin Din Sync, which can then be converted to gates/triggers etc. Check out this link I found,
http://www.hoohahrecords.com/resfreq/modular/patseq/patseq.html
This covers an advanced MIDI to modular percussion sequencer, heaps of ideas which are relevant to the whole simple sequencer with gate outputs discussion.
