I can't get any help from the digi or NI forums so I though you guys from electro might be able to help.

I'm using a 001 and PT LE in OS9.2.2 with NI Dynamo 001 edition softsynth using Directconnect. Everything is set up correctly and installed right as far as I can tell. Frustratingly, I can't hear any sound from the synth. Here's a description of how I set it up:

- In OMS, create an IAC bus for Dynamo (i.e. "Dynamo IAC bus"): In Pro Tools: Setups > OMS Studio Setup. (If it says “Please Find OMS: Desktop > Mac HardDrive > Opcode Folder > OMS Applications > OMS Setups.) Double-click in the IAC Driver. In the field there type in" Dynamo IAC bus".

- In Pro Tools > MIDI Menu > Input Devices > Enable the "Dynamo IAC bus".

- In your Pro Tools session create a MIDI track (File Menu > New Track). Assign the "Dynamo IAC bus" as its output.

- Create a Stereo Aux Input Track (File Menu > New Track). In the Mix Window on the Aux Input channel strip, instantiate the Dynamo plug-in and select the stereo link "Dynamo 1L/2R". In addition, choose any unused input (or pair of inputs) for the Aux IntputTrack.

- Launch Dynamo. In Dynamo: Menu System > Audio Port > DAE/TDM Direct Connect window. Menu System and MIDI settings…: Select MIDI system in the pop up menu: OMS.

I've got the Dynamo Geek FX looping a midi file and the midi in/out lights on it are flashing. The Aux. stereo track meters are going so it's playing.......I just can't HEAR it!

I thought that I haven't got it setup right in OMS.....so while I go back and read about directconnect 1.1, any help would be great! Rolling Eyes

I followed the Digidesign Directconnect 1.1 instructions on how to use DC with Tokyos' Koblo synth which I just happened to have a Demo of.....and it works just fine. I can trigger a note from the piano roll on the MIDI track.
Then I substituted Dynamo for Koblo and was able to have Dynamo play MIDI files through DC in Pro Tools......so I could finally hear it! I just can't trigger MIDI notes to Dynamo from the PT MIDI track and it seems to me because in the Dynamo MIDI OMS setup I can't select Dynamo as an in port as well as an out port......each time I do it crashes the computer. Is it because I need to have a MIDI controller as the in port and Dynamo as the out port? Tokyo has a MIDI setup in Options that enables you to setup Tokyo as a DOC bus and it works. Dynamo is different but it's confusing as to why I can't midi trigger a note. Can anyone help here?
