You are actually building a model of the MV on the Nord Modular? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I'm a bit confused about the use of the enveloppe filter (u have to connect it on the filter pitch input?)
the glide module is it correctly plug?
many other thing to ask to have the sound I want (Dr Dre...)
i'm confused about the role of FM,Sync & Noise why usin' 'em to get what type of sounds.
Gotta tweak a lot but i don't have fun doin' it cos I don't produce no more.
I gotta master this babe. _________________ Fuck the friendship,I ride alone |

I dont have that Nord thingie, so I cannot check out what you have put together so far.
If you are not familiar with early 70s modular and semimodular designs.. then I guess you will have a hard time in the beginning.. figuring out how and why etc. synths like the Minimoog are put together this way. .
In order to get familiar with the original minimoog you can try reading this one: The original user manual _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Well.. this is not the real original manual... but it looks and reads like the one which came with the early minimmogs. You can find a lot of similar files on the net discussing designs like the ARP Odyssey and others. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

nothin' special just a good lead sound
i know Dr Dre use a NL3 on his last album
& I think the NL3 got good presets
cos the ones in the G2 'lead bank' in particular, really suck.
So i hope ppl who own a G2 gonna help me cos i'm strivin' with the red box. _________________ Fuck the friendship,I ride alone |

That's a good start.
The glide module is sort of correct, it should go to the 'unattenuated ' Pitch inputs (the ones without level knobs) and when using the Keyboard/Glide module in this way, the KBT on each oscillator should be turned off. The KBT (keyboard track) is like an internal connection to the keyboard so if not disabled, the keyboard control is doubled (1 octave = 2 octaves, semi = whole note).
I personally just use the glide on the global parameter page (knob/switch 6). It is fixed at linear response (my preference anyway) but has an auto mode (only glides when you play legato) which the module doesn't.
I know you posted some links to RA examples of Dr Dre, could you take a couple of bars of what exactly you are after and post them as mp3? |

if u can listen the track i post u will hear clearly what I'm talkin' about.
The soound i'm after start from the beginning of this song & then progress.
Thx for improvin' this patch.

I struggle with the purpose of the control output (blue) of the enveloppe : the one which control the filter or pitch oscillator , i use an ADR enveloppe controller to manage this.
But what the real use of that module aside the VCA? _________________ Fuck the friendship,I ride alone |

bj2001,
I have a question about the two mp3 files you posted on the forum. Have these tracks been released for public distribution, or do you have a release for them? I'm concerned because I don't want to be sued or anything by a record company or the RIAA. I don't know, some artists give away some tracks.
If these are copyrighted songs, we need to take them off. I think it would be OK to take a few seconds of the tracks to demonstrate the type of synth sound or something. Nobody is going to get mad or sue about that, I wouldn't think.
I guess I need to post a "rules for attachments" somewhere. |

I guess this is a violation of copyrights.. hmm.. case is.. it is the label and the RIAA who are the ones to decide how bad this is.. not us. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
