Hi Tim,
I liked the old layout better. But with more space between as already mentioned. Trade the bottom margin for the betweeen space. I also prefer the blank slate patch sheet of the first version you posted to this semi-hard wired one.

I like it. I like it a lot
I'm going to start using it and see how it works out. That is, if I can start using it again after I'm done putting these Klee Kables together (see, now you've got me started on the Klee alliteration)
Cheers,

OK, never mind the state or country, but on which planet is Kleevland located?
That's my favorite yet. Is that all one take (IE, did you mix the voices as the sequence progressed, or did you multi-track)? I tend to think it's all one take because the timing is so tight. It sounds like there are more voices there than I've ever been able to squeeze into a single take, and again I'm impressed with how you sequence and arrange the voices. And you've got to be changing the pattern? Or the gate bus switches? Damn! I should know this stuff.
Great work, indeed! Keep'em coming. _________________ My Site |

Thanks Scott & mono-poly,
The "Kleevland Factory" was made in one pass and the only thing I did was to twitch the 8x2/16x1 switch about 3/4 of the way through and adjust the audio mix(OK, I played with the filters too!).
Scott has not divulged the gender of the Klee yet, but I think it must be a female with all the knobs and sensitive adjustments. It can also change it's mind and attitude very quickly.
Enjoy,
Tim |

Def female. If it were male, it would only have one switch. _________________ My Site |

Your last one? It seems OK now and here - Howard is working on the site I guess, causing occasional hiccups. _________________ Jan

I tried to upload an MP3 file about 4 times this morning and 3 times tonight. There is the typical long delay and the progress bar at the bottom moves to 100% but it never gets attached.

Hey Scott. Just wanted to say I love all these tunes you are making with the Klee. Especially "Ad Astra". How many voices can you control with the Klee? _________________ Check out my music |

Quote: | How many voices can you control with the Klee? |
Well, the Klee produces three control voltages, so three different patterns are available at the same time. The gate bus, and programming of the voices, however can make it many more.
More than one voice can be controlled by one of the voltage outputs, and the gate bus can "chop up" the distribution of those voices so they appear to be entirely disconnected, or loosely connected. If the voices are operating at different intervals and/or have entirely different timbres, it works pretty well. Also, how the gate bus is connected can provide more variation to a voice - for example, often I like to control the EG of a voice from a combination of outputs from different gate busses - Say the trigger from Bus 1 and the Gate from Bus 2, etc. This allows a greater variance of the timing among the voices. It also allows a simple gate bus setting change to have a greater effect on the overall picture of the sequence.
Any well equipped step sequencer can do all of that - Peter Grenader's excellent Milton or that awesome Modcan Sequencer provide a myriad of control signals as well. The Klee differs in that everything is inter-related - the patterns are generated from the same pot settings and gate bus settings, so a change in any parameter is more of a holistic change to the entire sequence. Therefore the method of programming for the Klee is almost the exact opposite of a more traditional step sequencer.
Oh, Jeez, I could go on and on, but that's about it - the number of perceived individiual voices is pretty much up to the patch and the programming.
Cheers,

A very cool sample indeed, as usual. I picture a fruity Marlon Brando tooling down the road, cutting off Packards and old fruit trucks, while cheerfully flipping everyone, including the cops, the bird _________________ My Site |
