Hello - I'm trying to make a patch that plays the arpeggiated synth sound in this Faust track - I just can't seem to get anything that resembles it at all - I've tried all kinds of combinations but no luck -
I've uploaded a sample of the track - if you listen to the right hand channel only you can hear the synth part more easily -
I'm really frustrated as it sounds so simple and I should be able to do it but I just can't - I can do something similar with other fixed architecture synths but I really want to be able to do this with my g2 - it's not so much the distortion sound I'm having trouble with but the actual arpeggiator sequence -

any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated - I've not included any of my efforts as they're pretty crap and no where near approximating what I want -
Thanks very much

I think a simple sequence with somewhat complex processing. I tried a few things but can't get it right. Anyway, here are some of my tries on the sound I thought you meant. Maybe good for some ideas Very Happy

Hello there.

Not bad attempts Jan. Very Happy I think I hear either some randomish adjustments to the amp env attack rate or note positioning too.

Thanks!

A bit of explanation as to what I tried :

To me it sounded like two unsynced lfos drifting around each other a bit, but it was not clear to me what exactly they'd do (but it seemed to suggest variations in the note positioning to me as well) so I tried a few different things. The sound of the sequence seemed somewhat blended, I tried to do that by using a reverb before the envelopes (the blending can be controlled by the reverb parameters) . The third idea was that this was made in the "synth stone age", so it had to be relatively simple, probably using some effects in the processing chain.

Later I read something on the internet that makes me believe that ring modulation is involved. That's not in the patches as I posted 'm but I tried something with that later and it could explain the roughness of the sound I think, something I couldn't get quite right.
