NordLead Percussion mode |

In these two mp3's the same sequencer input was used to two NordLead2 Slots, only different Banks (home made, of course)

hey woot
i have been getting into using the nord rack 2 and its 4 banks as a simple drum machine or drum tone module, with kick on bank A and snare on Bank B and maybe 2 different hat settings on Banks C&D
however i have noticed you can only edit the overall sound of the perc kit, not each indicviual sound in the kit, hence why i assign one sound to a bank, that way i CAN edit the sound of the kit, and it only really affects the sound within the kit i want it to
i have been getting into also sampling some nice clean 808 booms and other 1 shots out of it tho for use in my own software sampler
has been fun - and successful! |

In my NordLead2, not an 'X', I can change all 8 sounds in each Slot, so using 4 Slots I'm able to create 32 different drum sounds or effects. The only limitation is the number of Voices (can't use them all in one 'boom'). I can't save these changes in the synth, only on a PCMIA card or on the hard disk using Midi Sysex.
I advise you to read the Manual again! [Page 29 and further] Beware the LFO settings are global to a individual bank.

i have a lead 2 not an 'x' and i havent figured out how to adjust say the snare in one kit and not the kick drum, if you tweak the kit all sounds within the kit are changed too
yes i can always still get each sound out of the kit via playing different keys on my midi keyboard but its the tweaking the snare to be thinner say aand the kick in that same kit to be fatter or fuller
I must have missed something in the manual, if i could get it working how you use it I would be very happy indeed
will be digging the manual out when i get home, but i have read it a few times....must have missed it
cheers! |
