Audicle Subject description: Is it still going to be developed/bugfixed? |
|
|
Hi @ all,
I'm a noob in Chuck and I just wanted to ask some questions concerning audicle:
1.) I can only access six out of eight faces. How do I activate the Slotter and the Chuck Chuck Rocket?
2.) Audicle seems to have a hobby i.e. crashing... is there a patch that fixes it?
So far I prefer to use "vanilla"-chuck in combination with emacs to write/modify the sources. Or mini-audicle, of course (but I like the vanilla chuck more) |

Hello, my new fellow ChucKist!

Erm.... I seem to remember you have to call those from the command line as you start the audicle from there. Isn't that in the readme? I have to admit I don't understand how those work though....

Not as such.... Right now it seems that the Audicle isn't developed as heavily as ChucK itself, I'm sure they'll get back to it. What would be helpful is if you'd document when it crashes and how it crashes and maybe even why. Typically things that can be pinpointed can be fixed.
I think it's our responsibility to keep the dev's busy, if we don't send enough bug reports I imagine they'll grow bored and will get lazy and out of shape! ;¬)

I agree. The Audicle is spectacular as a concept but quite immature in execution so far. It's a very experimental thing and I also think the versio of ChucK it uses is a bit behind. _________________ Kassen |

Hi Kassen,
Thx for the tipps. Yesterday I've tried to start audicle from the command line, but the bash tells me that he/she doesn't know the command (even though I'm in the right folder)... |

It's propably a security measure.
Try copying the executable to the /usr/bin/ folder first. _________________ To boldly go where no man has bothered to go before. |
