i'd preferred 0.125'' mounting holes.
what about MTA connectors for the wiring? do you think it will fit? _________________

| Holes for M3 bolts (3mm) would be good for me over in metric-land. So 0.125" is fine... |

| .125 mounting holes it is. What spacing on the MTA connectors? I can do 0.100" pretty easy I think. I can space all the connectors for MTA which will come in handy for the mode switches. If there is concensus on which headers/connectors everyone likes I can include them otherwise you can use whatever connector you want. |

I tend to use Molex KK connectors or cheaper clones - which are all 0.1"
I think MTA come in 0.1" and 0.156". 0.1" probably gives more choice in terms of available headers of different types and is efficient on board space. |

Can you do MOTM style power connectors?

that would be the 4-pin MTA .156 header...another vote for that too. |

UPDATE:
If I can i will provide both MOTM and MTA holes on the board as the interest seems to be divided, however I would prefer one or the other.
The CV is designed but not yet incorporated into the board. One of my hard drives crashed on Monday and even though I had a good backup of all my files it took me a couple of days to get everything working again and I lost about a days work that I had done on the PCB.
So far out of the 38 people who said they wanted boards or kits only 12 have paid, which means I am 3 orders short to cover the cost of production. Due to the loss in time of getting the PCB laid out and the lack of people stepping up to the plate I am going to extend the time for taking orders for another week (I was going to cut off orders tomorow). |

UPDATE:
PCB should be finished by tomorrow including the untested and not guaranteed CV control.
I have been reading up on the threads on the Dim D Clone and just want everyone to know that my clone IS NOT a clone of the Roland SDD320 Dimension D, it is a clone of the Boss DC-2 Dimension C with some extras. They are kissing cousins for sure but one look at the schems will tell you that the Dim D has a lot more going on and IMHO will always sound better than a DC-2. The two main reasons are the added filtering and the use of the high voltage MN3007 BBD
My circuit for sure sounds better than the DC-2 but it does not sound like an SDD-320, it cant.
I mention this because a lot of the same people interested in this project are also interested in JH's work on the Dim D and I don't want to take any steam away from his work on the Dim-D. |

Schem is complete, Here is the BOM amd Schem, just added the parts list with quantities and Mouser part numbers, except for the 3207,3102 bbd set and the NE570

| Update: just need to add the power rails and the PBC will be complete. I am going to use the MOTM (MTA-156). However if you use a MOTM supply it will be running a tad hot at +15V, this circuit is designed for +9v and should still run fine at 12v but 15v may be pushing it a bit |

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY I AM TAKING ORDERS FOR THIS PROJECT. My pay-pal is john@fromel.com. If you want to order please let me know, otherwise I will take your name off this list and send you a PM if I run this project again.
Let me know if you have any questions. Prices include shipping in CONUS, elsewhere let me know and I will get you a quote. It has been ranging from $20-$35 shipping for full kits. Slow boat for just the board is usually under $10.
Board $38:, comes with a BOM that is sorted by part location as well as by component, a schematic, a large format board layout, and a brief instruction sheet for wiring tips, tuning the BBD's, etc.
Kit $100: Will come with everything that the board comes with plus: All the components necessary to populate the board. This is the same spec for the components that I use in the pedal I build. I was striving to have the highest quality and maintian a small size. Where possible I use higher ratings than spec to squeeze a bit more headroom out of the circuit.
1. The BBD set and companders will be NOS and the op-amps for the BBD and LFO are a clone of the original BA718. All other op-amps will be TL072. NOTE: I may change the BBD set to the CoolAudio V3207/3102, I think TL072's sound best in the BBD and LFO and will most likely take a previous suggestion of going with a TL062 for the LFO.
2. The trannies and diodes are NOT NOS but are compatable substitutes.
3. Original spec calls for .125 w 5% resistors, the kit will come with .25 w 1% resistors.
3. Ceramic caps will be 50V min, film caps will be AVX boxed 63V or 100V depending on stock. Electolytic caps will be rated higher than spec when component size allows. Most notably all 10u caps will be rated at 35v but are spec'd at 16v.
The pricing of the kit is about what it would cost to piece this together without bulk pricing and the components for the kit will fit the board nicely. |

UPDATE:
Boards and components are ordered. I think I will be short a few BBD's with what I have on hand so I placed an order with Cool Audio and we will see how long that takes. I will start the documentation as soon as the boards are in as the parts will get here first. |

UPDATE:
Boards have shipped and all the components are in except for the BBD's and Companders. I tried placing an order with cool-audio's web store and they are no longer taking orders over the internet. I need to set up an importer account with DHL and purchase min quantities of 1000 each of the BBD's and Clocks if I use Cool Audio. It has been kind of a pain and I will most likely just get some NOS from Hong Kong to make up the difference of what I do not have in stock.
I am out of town until Saturday but have all the components with me and I am sorting them for all the kits. I hope to fire up the first board and have the documentation complete the week that I get back. |

I think for single prices the VS chips are a good option but they are way too expensive for buying in bulk. I think they are just cool audio chips with a VS logo on them. Single pricing for Cool Audio is $1.20 each and for 1000+ pricing is $0.27 each. I would rather buy NOS than pay so much for the VS chips.
Also note for every one out there trying to source the BBD's. Cool Audio is no longer taking orders via their internet store and will only sell in qty's of 1000+.
I recently placed a bulk order on their web site and they rejected the order saying they only accept payment via wire transfer now. |

UPDATE:
If all goes well the boards and kits will ship in two weeks. The boards are in and they look great. All the components are in but I had to order some more bbd's and companders as I am a little short with all the pedal orders and the 22uf caps didn't fit the board like I would want so I have some skinny ones coming.
I will post the final specs soon for the kits but every thing is pretty much as planned all along. the BBD's clocks and companders will be NOS, the op-amps for the BBD and LFO will be 2904D (closest clone to the original) and all other op-amps will be TL072. All the box film caps are 63V.
Will post pics soon |

I will try and have them out soon..
I have finished two of the boards and just need to test to make sure everything is A-ok, I think they turned out looking great and assembly was really easy.
