Thank you all. |

My set was a lot of fun and I'm glad people enjoyed it. I have elected not to make the recording available online as is; I am not happy with the performance and there are some elements that need tweaking.
When I DO release it (a rerecording with some improvements, probably also done live but on stillstream.com on my Sunday night show), it will be released on the Earth Mantra netlabel as a free download album.
I hope to see you all here or on StillStream.com for radio and live chat... thank you all so much for your support, and here's to a great 2009!

Thanks
I didn't listen to all sets, but I heard some nice ones. I tried to record with screamer radio, however, somewhing went wrong and it didn't record anything, just 0 kb files.
Did anyone else record the sets? |
edcast allowed me to save my sets ... it's a wave, cd level. I could podcast it and you could gather if interested. Just drop me a PM. A CD could be sent too. There is a part of Mike's set there but we was chattering so I would not want that to go out ...

Did it record automatically? I thought that function didn't work with my edcast somehow
Anyway, I'd like podcast. PM |
I told it in the setting to go to the folder, save the file ... it's there
I nuked a bunch of other files in there already .. each time I started the connection, it saved a copy.
I am thinking about cleaning the wave up a bit in waves then placing it on one of my web sites ... haveing a hosting biz on the side, I got the bandwidth and space to do this.
if I did it as a podcast, I would do it like I did for the iTunes one ...
that KISS thing pulls at my coat strings ... wave, download, cd ...
podcast ...
still got my din din calling ...
catch up with everyone in the next few days ...
the set I did, was just a typical night really, how we work things out when I bring others in ... sometimes I can not hear what I did at all after they get done with it ... I think the stings Lorraine feels stong on doing will work out, the pedal steel, hey, it a unique sound and should be used too ... you did not hear what I did on another track with the pedal steel ... that is on the cd too ... I broke my rule already, I took a complete item I put to bed and re-opended it ... well it's my wife, I can not say no ...
when I do record the real deal, it wont sound like this version tonight, more complete, polished a bit and mastered ... long road left to travel on this ...

Thanks to all who participated - I think it went pretty well overall, like last year we had some weird technical issues. I think we'll try to get together some better instructions for people to get on the chat... using it once a year doesn't help and I don't think the java chat client is that good in the first place. But considering the line up of players for as many hours as it went, this went really well. I'm sorry I fell asleep for the last few, hopefully I can get recordings off someone else. I did record a fair amount of the proceedings (5+ hours by the look of it).
Many thanks to Howard, Jan, Jason (chat meister) and all the performers for a great set of performances. _________________ Garret: It's so retro.

Thanks for this new year's party! I can't believe all the amazing music I got to hear, and it was good fun in the chat room too. A well organised event - I'm amazed that stuff like this can work as well as it did - some hitches but that can only be expected.
Here are the EdCast recordings of my set:
Part 1
Part 2
Cheers and here's wishing the best possible 2009 for everyone!!!
That's a picture I posted at Blue Hell's album which is here:

I guess it would be great if y'all do the same! (didn't get the BBCode img tag to work with the image adress though)

I'm at Malmö.
Sorry I missed your set, Pehr. I chickened out after Don Slepian. Did you get up and do your set after breakfast or was it a really long night?

I stayed 5 hours online (on and off) listening to the sets and chatting. The number of people online was greater than during previous events ( it is just a guess). the technical quality of the stream was better even though there were a few problems. I read that after I left (1 AM GMT+1) the chat room went down but I would say it was a great event _________________ homepage - blog - forum - youtube

Most Wonderful! |

I was more than merely happy to be part of this great effort. Much kudos to Howard and Co. and electro-music for making this thing happen! I have not played publicly in a while due to other pressing items, other than such cyber/jam/casts such as this. I want moar!
My apologies and a pointer for others who haven't heard of the idea of Turning System Sounds off during play. I didn't know that EVERYTHING was going out the link... The 'squeak' noise btw is made by a clown nose bought at the 25th anniversary Firesign Theatre show; my VSTHost program was generating 'general failure' errors without exiting, and thus the 'squeak' sound; but then I was repeatedly loading it beforehand. I found though that the Oddcast client didn't completely release itself as well, and that although I'd exited it, it never cleaned up after itself.
I checked in a few times after my sputtering panic round 1700 GMT, towards 3am GMT when I succumbed. Lovely sets every time I listened. Well done everyone! In slight contrast, I recall a problem on my last cybercast involving British Summer Time and sitting down to test the Ninjam software, to find out You're On, Right Now, but blissfully avoided that this time. Let's work on some means of us jamming in the future, and I'd be happy to technically assist as well.
Also I look forward to further contact from the folks here, in pursuit of music. Online jams are the juke bars of the future. Let's go there!
Happy 2009.

yeah it was a blast everyone...great job people!
I recorded my set, though it came through on my end with some glitching delay issues at certain points, so I'm not sure if someone else was able to get it or even did...?
thanks again for setting this up guys and I can't wait til next year! |
