Do you see anything get printed in the post window?

If not, make sure you're running the code with the enter key - NOT return. Apple dropped a separate enter key from their keyboards, but fn-return still produces the keypad-enter-key code.

You should see this, or something much like it, appear in the post window after enter-keying on the SinOsc line.

Code:
Synth("temp__0" : 1000)
