I'm new here, a friend directed me to the forums and i'm impressed.

I like to sing and write poetry/lyrics and have a few things up at http://dgrooved.podbean.com . You can listen by clicking the play button at the bottom of each of the lyrics.

If anyone is interested in hearing more just toss out a line, I have some stuff that I can't post due to copyright reasons that are for promotional purposes only.

I'm interested in learning to write my own music and also in finding people that would like to collab with a vocalist.

Currently the extent of my production skills involves looping up stuff to sing over occasionally, pretty ghetto as a friend put it lol I just use soundforge and acid to do what i do.

Glad to find this community!

welcome rainshadow, heard some beautiful things on the site you linked to.

I saw this DVD a couple of months ago of an ... environment artist I guess ... he would get out to pick flowers and decorate a landscape, color water streams with natural dye ... but also one of the images was like the picture you put up here, a rain shadow ... sorry .. forgot the name & all ... oh and the ice sculpturing of course ... sorry .. got carried away a bit Laughing

`dark angel' and `obscurity' I liked best, most mysterious I guess.

thanks blue hell for the welcome and kind compliment. Embarassed

dark angel was made by a producer named Indigo Sync, I just did a reading of some of my words.

obscurity, I got lucky and found a couple nice loops from www.looperman.com and layed them out in acid, I recorded the vocal in soundforge and added a delay then layed that out with the loops...

the artist you mention sounds very interesting...i went to a festival this summer where they did some environmental decoration, it was beyond description...

Rainshadow, I am SO glad that you joined electro-music.com! We have tons of talent and a wonderful community, but we lack much in the way of vocalists. I know you realize that I'm a real fan of your vocals, so let me just say to the others reading this: you MUST listen to at least ONE of rainshadow's songs. You'll be hooked.

There is plenty of opportunity for collaboration here, Rainshadow, and I'm sure you'll enjoy the people. Everyone is so warm and friendly and positive. You wouldn't believe the fun I had at our annual festival last week also (as I told you before).

So everyone, please extent a warm welcome to my friend Rainshadow!

Les

Well I dont' have it posted, so here is one of our songs. I wrote this song 20 minutes after my father died. Rainshadow was kind enough to do the vocals, then I added some music. Just listen to that voice...

Les

p.s. that's her *reading*, but wait until you hear her *sing*!

I listened to some of your pieces, and they're very good - I really like your singing thumleft
As Les says, it's good to have a new vocalist on board.

Hello Rain. I'm an amateur myself - no expert. Actually I'm a bit shy to - but anyway - I will say my honest opinion and give you some feedback. You got nothing to be shy about. What you do is just fine. Your voice seems very nice, from what I've heard. You remind me a bit of Laurie Anderson.
I may be a fool, but in my ears it was more lyrical "sweet-talking" than actually singing. I would love to hear you really Sing - sing out, and maybe try some high notes to. If you in addition can do that - the combination will make it more diverse and add a new dimension. Then maybe you've "got the world at your fingertips" - to put it that way.

P.S. Sandy Denny is my favorite female singer (besides J.Joplin). If you haven't heard her you must check her out. She sings straight forward without any vibrato and got the most beautiful voice.

Best wishes from Glamrock Surprised
