The Lunetta Show Subject description: A Tribute to Stanley Lunetta |
|
|
The Lunetta Show
Producer: Inventor (Les Hall)
The electro-music.com Lunetta forum is dedicated to Stanley Lunetta and his CMOS synthesizer creations, as well as the many fascinating circuits and songs that are made by our friends the Lunetta heads. Here is what Howard had to say about Lunettas:
Quote: | I've gotten requests to go into depth on the little cheap simple digital synths called Lunettas. These machines are named after Stanley Lunetta of Sacramento, California. Stan informally taught a few of us how to build these things in the early 1970s. He was an inspiring teacher, to say the least. He never liked us calling these things Lunettas, but, Stan, you don't always get what you want. We call these Lunettas as an homage to a great man, a creative inspiration to me and many others.
Lunettas are very simple, digital, noisy, quirky, and lots of fun. Forget the analog synth model - no VCOs, filters, ADSRs, and that stuff. In some way, these aren't synthesizers because they aren't designed to synthesize any sounds. They are certainly electronic musical instruments.

The Lunetta Show will air on occasion as more material is recorded and contributed to the Lunetta Show post in the Lunetta forum. _________________ "Let's make noise for peace." - Kijjaz |

Glad to hear the show went well.
Just listened to it this afternoon, didn't get chance to catch it live. Very cool Les, thanks for playing some of my stuff. |

Thanks for the compliments! I really like how the forum, the chat, the radio, and of course all the homebrew DIY efforts tie in together and make it fun for all. Keep those contributions rolling in and then we can have another Lunetta show sometime in the future.

I just listened to the show. Great!!! I loved it.
Congrats to all involved, especially to Les and those who contributed such an interesting array of music. It was especially nice to talk to Stanley before the program. I'm glad he checked into the chat room during the broadcast.
Thanks, Les, for putting this together. _________________ --Howard

Les, that WAS a very good show last week. I really enjoyed the music selections AND I really did learn more about the Lunetta synthesizers. It prompted me to research the subject and I found some fascinating music and musical contraptions online! Bravo, your shows always provide the catalyist for research ... and thats always good in my book ....

WHAT???? I MISSED the show! Major fudge time infinity!
There. That's what I get for 'sulking in the corner' for way too long!
And STANLEY was there! OMFG! That would have been a gargantuan honour to say 'Thank you Stanley' to Mr. Lunetta himself! OMG!
(Side note: Les! The 'ban' trouble at my BB has been fixed, it looks like. Try wandering over there again. I'm majorly sorry about that! )
I'm going to keep this thread open so that I can listen to the saved show tomorrow as I've never heard 1 of your shows and would love to hear how you've put it together, which I think be a phenomenal idea!!
If you're wishing more material for a next one, lemme know and I'll get some stuff posted up here. I've got TONS of it. |

Hey Rych, what's up man? I hope you enjoy the show when you get a chance to listen to it. You can contribute new material to the thread in the Lunetta forum called "The Lunetta Show", or here is OK too I suppose. By the way, you never told me what your source is for those inexpensive multicolor LEDs...
Les
p.s. being a self-proclaimed LED phreak, I'm sure you'll get a kick out of the LEDIL thread in the Lunetta forum, have a look eh? _________________ "Let's make noise for peace." - Kijjaz |
