It was orginally August for the Card and November for the Rack, so not quite a year - AFAIK they mean this winter, around March, not the next one. That is a bit of a delay, but it's hardly surprising. Every product I'm waiting for seems to be delayed by a few months. I'm not sweating it - Good things come to those who wait, and all that

Acxel2 Situation |
 |
|
Hello Teknik and others
Here is the current situation - Due to worldwide financial situation, Idarca-Audio was forced to stop its activities following the lack of investments necessary at its preproduction stage : (product hardware ready and software beta status.
In fact this situation (investments) also causes the development schedule to slip for over 12 months (not originally for technical issues). As indicated before, the Rack & Card systems are up & running, and only require some software cleanup and adjustments, and complete the certifications.
We expect this situation to be temporary. We work on it. We have several serious contacts that we expect to put the project on rails in a solid and robust financial situation.
We will keep you informed.
You can still contact us, me personally : guilmette.pierre@idarca.com

The Acxel requires a lot more processing power than an iPad offers. The main technology of the project is the RPP, a dynamically reconfigurable massively parallel processor particularly fit for the purpose (multiple RPPs even).
Besides, for me one of the attractions of it is that it's a standalone unit (except for the PCI card version of course). If we end up with every piece of music "equipment" running on iPads, I'll take up drumming on logs and playing bone flutes Last edited by DrJustice on Wed Sep 19, 2012 7:21 pm; edited 1 time in total |

I agree, only... so far we don't have the Acxel II!
To do first generation Acxel processing the iPad has enough power! This might be a way to make money and maybe the real Acxel II will see the light of day! _________________ http://www.myspace.com/noiselab56309 |
