editor lost of communication

Hi,

Lately the editors started to loose communication with the modular.
it only happens when the DAW is in play mode and sending midi data to the NM and im building/editing a patch at the same time.

It wasnt like this at first, but lately it happens even if i connect a cable (but not always). Im getting an error massage and need to find the modular again in the midi settings.
Its very important to me to play the midi notes while making fine tuning to make the sound fit exactly as i want to the particular song.

Im using PC, Win XP Pro SP 3 and M-Audio midisport to connect the NM to the PC.
any ideas?
