Editor freezing |
 |
|
Hi,
I always had this issue, but usually changing the folder of the .exe file solved it.
now it doesnt help anymore and the editor keep freezing everytime it finds the modular.
at best, the modules load up, but i cant do anything after that but 'end program'.
i can see on the midi hub that the modular sending data like crazy from the pc out. the rate changes or stops when changing patches (using the hardware).
i should also point out that it happens without compability mode turned on, or if set to windows 2000. if i set it to something older, i get an error massage saying the editor could not find the midi ports.
this gets me very frustrating and i am unable to use the editor.
anyone came a cross this issue?
is it worth trying to write clavia support on discontinued product (its not like their gonna do an update)?
im really lost here and have no clue what to do.
Regards,
Stomper. |

I'd try another MIDI interface, or another driver for the existing MIDI interface maybe. _________________ Jan

yeah thats probably it.
i changed the midi cabels as i dont need the midi in/out to stable like the pc in/out and no freeze for now.
other question though.
is it ok that im getting midi error if i set the editor compability to windows 95?
also, what midi interfaces are recommanded to use with the modular?
i now use m-audio midisport anniv edition. but after so many issues i think it might be better to get one from another manufactur instead of fixing this one.

I've used midisport 2x2 in the past under windows XP, which was ok ... I now use EDIROL UM-3EX under Vista in win98/me compatibility mode - that works ok for me too ... it seems to be a bit of luck is needed to find a good one, and a bit if fiddling with the compatibility settings too. _________________ Jan

I had MOTU Fastlane that didn't like it when I shut the editor or switched off the Nord, either way the editor would just lock out and crash on close, you couldn't proper close it without getting the task manager involved. Now I am using an MOTU XT Serial to talk to it and it opens and closes fine. Weird. _________________ iP (Ross)

Replacing the pc in/out from the A to B on the midisport solved the problem.
Not sure why |
