My employer gave us one of these today

Looking forward to hearing reviews/referrals for audio/midi/sampler/synth/OSC/controller apps. _________________ Free Tibet. Release the Panchen Lama from prison. Let the Dalai Lama return to his home. |

Check out Caustic too. It shows up on the Market as the Free version - you can upgrade thru an in-app purchase. It's really coming along good and the developer has some neat plans for further development. _________________ Dave

Seconding nanoloop and jasuto. Jasuto fwiw is VERY resource intensive. I would think it would be fine on a tablet, but it's practically unusably laggy on my older android phone. But regardless, I can still see the power and the appeal if I had some more juice to give it.
I also like:
RD3: A sort of 303-style sequencer
Ethereal Dialpad: Spacy x-y touchpad synth, with a few different visualizations, and some multitouch and accelerometer support
SiO2: Odd very vintage-y sounding drum machine, all sort of casio-style presets, with some tweakable parameters and a nice little tap tempo widget.
Frequency Generator: 3-voice tunable waveform generator, makes some nice ugly drones.
MusicGrid: Sort of a monome/Bliptronic-style looping grid instrument.
GrainSynth: Granular/noise synth generator with multiple interfaces.
gStrings: Good chromatic tuner.
Have fun...

I can recommend Chordbot too. There's a lite free version on the Market too. It basically allows you to put chords together and play back with different instruments and styles. The best part is it exports as midi files. I composed the bones of 1 track while on a train, got home and paid the small fee for the full version. Its excellent.

Another one. Solo is a guitar emulation on the market place which is excellent - there's a lite version to try out for free. |

Not a music generating app, but touchDAW is outstanding as an ipMidi control surface/midi controller |
