Plex 2 available as a free download Subject description: VSTi by Wolfgang Palm |
|
|
This is a Windows only VSTi originally sold by Steinberg. ~ 169meg in size.
The programmer, Wolfgang Palm, has done some editing/modifying to the original code.
Fun synth to play!
Here is a link to one of the mirrors.

Brilliant! Wolfgang is a gem.
There is a sad part to this too.
There is not an AU version of the plugin for Logic Pro.

I'm really suprised that nobody has come up for a shell for VST's to be used in Logic. Actually maybe not since it's an Apple product now and they don't seem to do things that make a lot of sense at times...
Still you would think somebody - perhaps a company that sells a lot of VSTs would come up with something... _________________ Dave

Frankly, I´d appreciate Plex 2 as an AU.. but I´m not really too interested in a win2mac VST/AU software bridge. BTW.. I know I have a Plex license somewhere in the archive.. I bought Plex way back when I was still using Cubase. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

A VST-to-AU bridge would allow alot of MAC users to access the huge amount of VST/VSTis that are there. Perhaps if enough people were using a particular VST the developer might be encouraged to do a dedicated AU....or they might figure 'eh, what the heck - let them use the bridge'
(where's the bridge - has anyone seen the bridge? Where's that confounded bridge!) _________________ Dave

Well.. fxpansion has one.. it´s upped to v.2 now.
"VST to AU Adapter v2.0"
There are of course certain obvious limitations:
Quote: | * "OS X Carbon" and "OS X Mach-O" VST plug-ins on OS X / PPC; "OS X Intel" plug-ins on OS X / x86. "Mac OS 9" VST plug-ins are not supported; "Mac OS X PPC" plug-ins can not be used on Intel-CPU Macs, and vice versa. Windows VST plug-ins cannot be used. |
