My bag consists of

4011 x 2 quad 2-input NAND
4013 x 2 dual DFF with set/reset capability
4020 x 1 14-stage binary counter
4023 x 5 triple 3-input NAND
4027 x 2 Dual JK Flip Flop
4028 x 1 BCD to Decimal (1 of 10) decoder
4051 x 1 8 channel analog multiplexer/demultipolexer
4082 x 4 dual 4-input AND
4093 x 3 quad 2input NAND Schmitt Trigger
4518 x 4 dual BCD up counter

I'm an utter noob at this. Closest thing to a Lunetta I've built to date is a Weird Sound Generator. But it seems like it might be fun....

So far I have fried one pot (oh yeah, that vactrol needs a limiting resistor, doesn't it?). Thankfully no damage other than that and the vactrol it was hooked to, and these are from the Electronic Goldmine blowout, so not terribly great loss.

What I have so far is 1/4 4093 clocking 4020, 4020 Q4-Q14 outputs driving an R2R ladder, driving a vactrol controlling the pitch of another 1/4 4093 oscillator. I have lots of echo/noise, I need to get some filter caps on these boys. But I think it sounds interesting at least....

I'm interested in what happens if I use that oscillator controlled by the vactrol to clock the 4020, giving a feedback loop of sorts.

I have some other ideas too, though I doubt many of them are very original....

And here's the answer to that question, fairly interesting, but needs more stuff. Good thing I have a few more chips and bits of chips Smile

Moving along, getting more complicated and with blinky lights (can't record a video because I don't have a good way to sync audio with video short of using speakers, and it's after some people's bedtime....)

I like the sounds, but I'm not at all satisfied with the amount of user interaction possible yet though. I can tweak a couple of sounds/speeds with pots, but not a lot, certainly not performance grade.

Interesting sounds in there! Thanks for posting your progress.
