Greetings.

I built a Noise Toaster.
It mostly works, and I'm pretty proud of it so far. Most of the problems have been the result of poor hardware choices.
I hate to be "Mr. First-Project-Asking-Simple-Questions", but I think these should be acceptable.

1. The VCO is intermittently exhibiting the following behaviors:

1a) Occasional normal functioning (very rare, like maybe twice).

2a) The same waveform on both selections, but with higher frequencies concentrated at the upper pot range of one waveform, and lower frequencies concentrated at the opposite end of the range. That sounds like at the least an incorrect pot (exponential instead of linear? I'm checking them all again to make sure that's straight).

3a) Constant VCO audio leakage when the waveform switch is in the center (off) position.

2): My LFO is producing clicking constantly. I suspect this is a weak ground, and I am about to go RTFM (and the MFOS website) again, but I thought I'd check around a bit in case I can save some time).

3): The white noise generator worked weakly a couple of times and stopped entirely. I've re-flowed joints and done some signal tracing, but I think it's gone. I suspect I damaged a semi-conductor during assembly; again, I can probably solve this easily

I'm about to recheck the usual suspects; debris/solder creating shorts, damaged traces, and weak grounds. All the hardware seems to be free of fragments.
Right now I am touching up some work on my case (which is entirely steel), so it's going to be a few days yet before I can recheck everything.

Thanks for any suggestions.

P.S.: If any future Noise Toaster newbs like me read this, avoid the cheapest jacks on eBay, and watch out for potentiometers that don't have the tolerances listed in the ad! And beware dodgy used parts.

Why didn't I search the forum before listing that?

I now off to read through other posts for ideas. I'll check this thread again or post another version of it after I've chased down what I find there, so I invite the ignoring of this post for now!

TTYL,
