The box that my compaq 33 MHz turbo speed IBM compatible PC came in still is one of the best kick drums I have I kick it and and it does such a nice damped boom
Anyways .. be sure to unpack a microphone at least _________________ Jan

The flyer looks good, thanks! I will port check some time tomorrow. Still catching up on other work that was deferred due to the weekend's EM festival in the planetarium. _________________ When the stream is deep

Looks like an absolutely wonderful event!!! I probably will not be able to listen, except perhaps for a few minutes here and there; so I am being a bit selfish in encouraging performers to !r ["Please record your set"] and also to please post your sets here so that I and others can listen at other times. (If I were in chat, I'd be doing !r reminders, but I hope this covers it!!!)

Hey guys, Alejo here from Debris. I'm really looking foward for tomorrow's event
We haven't been able to test our connection because the notebook we were gonna use for streaming died on wendsday and i haven't been able to fix it. Melisa is bringing in a replacement today so later we'll test our connection. Around 10-11 pm GMT, I hope there's an operator around!
Cheers! |

Thanks, PHOBoS! Just had a run through of the generated piece for tomorrow. I should have recorded it! I hope it goes that well tomorrow.
Funny thing about that photo. I wear the headphones so I don't hear the dry strings and any echoes in the room, because I am playing against delays that are tightly synced to my finger picking speed. Well, I forgot to plug in the headphones before I started. I could hear just enough to time my playing, maybe a few picking speed phase leads or lags in there. Will find out when I get to the recording. _________________ When the stream is deep

Torrential rain here (only one road out of town open, and one lane only...), and DSL isn't going (typing this on my sister's cellphone.)
Hopefully it will be cleared up by 1930hrs, but if it isn't, then I won't be able to go on pissed as hell. I'll be in IRC if I can make it (sure hope so.)
Grrr! |

Finishing up for my set today.
When was the last time I slept?
Dunno.
Should be fun.
Will test streaming soon, for those who keep take of such things.
Take care, all. |

I had to leave after my set to bowl three games with my son Jeremy (he won two and had the highest overall score by far), eat Italian ice, play one game of miniature golf (we tied both the front 9 and the back 9!), drink a couple beers, and have dinner with Linda in a pre-Father's Day. I look forward to catching up on the music I missed.
My two tunes are attached. Transatlantic Reel is an acoustic Bart Reiter 5-string banjo with Tubaphone tone ring, EBow, and delays and other FX in Ableton Live, with a little C straight Hohner harmonica thrown in for drone purposes. I wrote the melody last winter.
TARDIS is HexAtom using Applied Acoustics Systems soft synths. The visual "game" (actually a mobile cellular automaton) generates MIDI, and the MIDI generates game graphics in a visual-audio feedback dataflow. I started playing around with feedback from the generated MIDI back into the CA last year at electro-music 2014, albeit with different soft synth patches. My part of the performance is mostly tweaking various generative probabilities and generating visual atoms using live coding in Python, adjusting graphics-to-MIDI mapping parameters, and changing patches and FX in Ableton Live. I also played some Zero Input Mixer (ZIM) on an Alto ZMX862, and used the mixer to create feedback FX off of the synth sounds, mostly noise generation. And cross-harped an Eb blues harmonica into Bb, chorused with its pitch bends using a Live delay.

Very much thanks to everybody who made this event possible. I love these webcasts!
EDIT: The EBow starts off playing Simple Gifts, a traditional Shaker tune from the 1800s, in the middle of this set.
