Cast - string to int

I'm calling a chuck script and passing parameters, like this:
chuck myProgram.ck:440:1000

But the received variables are strings... and I need to use them as "int". This does not work:
...
int par1;
me.arg(0) $ int => par1;
...

It says it cannot typecast string to int. How can I do this correctly?

Std.atoi('string_var') => int 'int_var'
