While winter is near i thought i could set myself to a comfortable summer feeling again by trying out a self playing patch , animating the sounds of a summer meadow on my DIY modular...

here's what i came up with... (headphones would be nice as there is some panning involved)

there are 4 birds singing, crickets chirping and an annoying fly... some traffic noise and wind in the background and sometimes you can hear the wind popping on the imaginary microphone, which wasn't intended but one of my filters made this (have to fix that sometime)

Anybody having good patches for other animals, perhaps not fishes or ants and could share how you made them with a modular synth?

Thanks Jan,

that went really massive in very short time... literally and actually using dozens of VCA's, VCO's and slopes for all the different voices... first time i could have needed more than the 12 VCO's i already have... okay well that might have been turned into a birdy-inferno a la Sala/Hitchcock Very Happy

It sounds a bit synthetic but you did a nice job with it, I like it Very Happy
I haven't gotten much further than wind/sea myself. I'd love to patch some bird sounds and often listen to
them when I am outside trying to figure out how to recreate it, they can produce pretty complex sounds.

here comes this to my mind:

Very Happy

apart from that funny bird, which obviously has a small in-build modular i have to thank you for the compliments Phobos.

Well i haven't tried to re-create a specific bird but on two of the voices i tried to add some Little bit more complex structure by varying the length of the calls, how often they repeat and also slightly changing the pitch of the FM source...
