howdy - i was wondering if anyone has attempted to build an echo or delay circuit using unconventional means (not using pt2399)

i'm particularly interested in attempting to use a RAM or PAM chip and employing it in a similar manner to bucket bridade chips. i got gifted a big bag of random ICs mostly 74HC and the like but there were a few crazy looking military grade memory ICs and i was trying to think of ways i could make them into something, any thoughts or suggestions?

thanks a lot

'Feedback' have a delay unit that uses RAM chips (and no microprocessor either.)
