stupid me.
two errors in the attached patch.
1. polyphony must be set to mono.
2. the three ValueSwitched must be set to listen to 0, not 64.
Then the round-robin works. |

Well I'm facing another issue with the voice allocation.
You can't hold a note and play notes "on top". Only the first three will work. Anyway to keep track of the number of held notes ?
(missing something like [borax] in Max/MSP if you know what I'm talking about). |

Anyone ?
I'd love to know a way to make a predictable round-robin voice allocation. |

I'm still stupidly stuck.
I can't find a way to step through 4 oscillators in a predictable order. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Hey there, I'm pretty sure this not exactly what you had in mind, but I thought I'd still share it due to lack of replies and because your post inspired me to try something out…

Thanks.
Well the patches you posted are nice but I've been there as well. But they don't solve my voicing issue. |

Unfortunately, not... but thanks so much for sharing.
Simple thing to get what doesn't work :
Hit and hold note 1. While holding note 1, hit and hold note 2. While holding note 2, hit and hold note 3. Release note 3 : as a result, you have only osc 1 playing the pitch of note 2. |

You are right. I found a way to achieve the right result and get around the problem with your specific example.
Quote: | Hit and hold note 1. While holding note 1, hit and hold note 2. While holding note 2, hit and hold note 3. Release note 3 : as a result, you have only osc 1 playing the pitch of note 2. |
I replaced the sequencer event modules by the sequencer controlled modules + few other mods. Then I can go back by one step everytime a note is released (by using the Velocity Release output from the Keyboard module).
But this workaround is not working if I change a bit your exemple >
Hit and hold note 1. While holding note 1, hit and hold note 2. While holding note 2, hit and hold note 3. Release note 1 : as a result, you have only osc 1 and osc 2 playing. Issue : Note 1 is still playing.
I have another idea in mind : Use a 'compare module' then send MIDI notes internally with the NoteZone module to match the correct notes/voices. I do not expect any positive results since so many talented people here already tried to find workaround for this problem but I will try. It's very educational for me!
Cheers! |
