Ah the new thread is up - happy new thread Exclamation

It'd flange with the proper modulation .. but .. what is the twist?

With the slow changes used in the demo it's like Karplus Strong Cool

The twist is that I use an attenuverter to control the feedback.

Is that a 3d printed panel? How well does that work?

Yes, it’s 3D printed and it is working really well,
First I start printing the panel and as soon as the printer starts to print the characters which are about 1.5 mm high, I pause the printer, change the filament to another color and resume printing. So you need to keep an eye on the printing progress.
I learned that 3mm thick panels is a good thickness but also that it needs more than one attachment screw for top and bottom fixture because else it would bend too much when plugs are pulled from the panel.

here's a circuit bend video switcher (V-Guard VA-203) for some CV controlled glitchyness and it has 2 build in LFO's to use instead of a CV. shakng2

Turing Machine (MKII) with integrated Volts and Pulses expanders and a few mods.

Be interesting to compare this with the CGS Infinite Melody and the Klee.

(For some reason, the images have been rotated in posting...)

Slightly off topic, but I did a comparison of various sequencing modules as I suggested above, and here is the audio file.

Just a sawtooth driven by the CV output of each module in turn, after passing through a quantiser, with a simple envelope.

0-1min is the Klee in 8 step and Random mode with white noise as the random source.
1-2min is the Turing Machine in 8 step fully random mode, then from 2-3.5min I adjust the mode knob slowly towards lock - in the intermediate positions the sequence changes progessively less frequently.
3.5-4.5 min is the Infinite Melody in Random mode
4.5-5.5 min is the Infinite Melody in 1/f mode.

They all of course have lots of other features that distinguish them and make them all useful, but to my ears, the Klee is very random, the Turing Machine exhibits more runs on notes, and the Infinite Melody in 1/f is the most melodic with more passages.

Waveform Animator, based on the ETI waveform multiplier, with a number of mods:
Dual unit: two separate animator sections, driven by a single set of modulating LFOs;
Input Type control, permitting use of either 0-10V inputs or +/-5V inputs;
Modulation section provides six animating waveforms, in two banks of three (Mod#1-3 and Mod#4-6), with four-way Modulation Speed switches for each bank to select between Slowest, Slow, Normal and Fast;
Mod#1 can also be switched to an External source;
Outputs modulated by subsets of the modulators: Mod#1 only, Mod#1-3, Mod#4-6 and All Mods.

Nice for beefing up a single oscillator, or two oscilators tuned a fifth apart.

I am working on some video modules and here's my version of the Syntonie CBV001, which is a modified version
of an archer video enhancer (there is a thread about it here). The CBV001 is a eurorack version of the Syntonie AVE-MOD
with an input for CV instead of audio. I added both to mine Laughing

A link to the video of the first tests is posted here

Most has been built within the last couple of weeks, some might have seen the artificial light of night inside my studio in the end of 2020 (as the modules from kits) but the most work was invested this year. next on the bench is a rebuild of a Renè Schmitz MS-20 filter (the first one suddenly died), a Baby 8 from a fonik design, a CGS euro Synthacon filter, some more mixers and buffers, a dual MFOS VCA, a benjolin (epoch's schematic) and a Scott Bernardi VC Delay....I hope to get this done until the end of june - then I'll start gigging again and for one project I hope to bring the modular! For this purpose a more sturdy case will probably also be part of the tight building schedule. And I have to make sure the "older" modules are road-ready.......anyway, here's a picture of the current rack and some descriptive nonsense.

Two more:

1. Classic baby8 after fonik's schematic - still have to figure what gates and triggers it likes (probably need to adjust threshold level) but works great for now.

2. Eurorack bipolar bench supply after Ray Wilson's great "Bipolar Wall Wart Supply" schematic. Mechanical build and getting the LEDs to work properly was the hardes part. Also had some trouble due to a faulty 7912 - should have changed that in the first place (as usual).

Cheers!

Next up: Dual MFOS VCA, another try on René Schmitz' MS-20 VCF, Synthacon filter, stripboard MI "ears", Scott Bernardi VC Delay and a benjolin (if I get the stripboard layout right). I might also etch the benjolin PCB (or does anybody of you have some CAD files for an epoch-like Benjolin?).

an 8x6 Video Matrix Switch build around a TEA6414A which I apparently desoldered from something some time ago.

I guess it is not completely finished though. The AC voltage turned out to be a bit higher than expected and with 2 active video
outputs the regulator is already getting too hot to touch. Luckely the enclosure is made of metal so I'll mount it to that and hope
that will be sufficient.

edit: I did that and have been using it without any problems.

more info here
