Isn't it ironic that time does not pass a clock? So it is ticking or clicking for month or years or decades and you can actually see the time aging, so to say. On the other hand, time never gets old and is still one of the things most important to people. I'd say this also counts for music, especially for electronic music. While styles and tracks age by the hour, they never actually get old. Berlin School, for example, was at its height in the seventies to the eighties. It was thrilling because it was new in itself. But it never lost its appeal to knowledgable listeners. And there is always room for new variants on this style, which let you discover more modern details and takes on the older ones. It may be new instruments or different nuances to arrangements, there is always something worth exploring. We will have ears on some modern takes on Berlin School and related styles with tonight's edition, featuring great music by Uwe Reckzeh (Electronic Music Compilation Vol. 13), DASK (Electron Hell), Syndromeda (The Path of Isolation), Howard Givens, Madhavi Devi, and Craig Padilla (Precipice of a Dream), moogie183, Klangzaun, Sequential Dreams (Chrysalis), TaboTago (Live at Zwinglikirche Berlin).

We are living in speedy times. Everyone is in a rush. Everything has to be done right away. And best to have what I want in a Zero-Day delivery (or am I mixing this up with exploit?). Well, for most music you hear on my show, you actually have zero-day delivery, as they are available as direct download. Many artists stopped producing physical albums, as they become to expensive with print and production and posting. So what is your preferred way for getting hold of music? Do you buy downloads? Do you require a CD or even Vinyl? Or do you not care to own it at all and stream away? Let me know in the comment sections on social or soundcloud or mixcloud. One thing I do know though, you love listening to podcasts. Like the one at your fingertip, which has great and more speedy music for you tonight by Stan Dart (Basilica - The Remix EP), Mabu + Chanty Schandtat (Midnight Radio Compilation 103), Caballero & Chan Solo (Digital Family Vol.9), Devalero (Tog), Blue Alchemy & Koorow (Lost Civilisation), CrennWiick & Latus (Pote 4), AudioNuts.

That's right. It's that time again. Lean back, take a drink, and enjoy some beautiful and relaxing tunes on this edition. You've earned it. I am sure you have. For a busy week. For a thrilling time. For meeting annoying people. For having to listen to dreadful music on the radio. For all those ads on TV. For simply not being able to listen to an episode of syndae for 7 days. Yes, I am sure, if you think about it, there was that pesky moment, where you rolled your eyes or palmed your face. Of maybe you simply had a great time. Then, you also earned to close the week with some fantastic music. Like the tracks you will find on this show given to tus by 8 Parallel ft. Riffi (Unity of Nature), MAJI (Healing Volume 1), Fiona Joy Hawkins & Rebecca Daniel (Heavenly Voices), Balmorhea (The Wind), AO Music (Kutumba), Jeff Johnson & Phil Keaggy (Ravenna), CG Deuter (Song of the Last Tree), Force For Good (Innocence), Jeff Greinke (Other Weather), Ivan Black (Ah! Sun-flower), IcingWolf (Goodbye).

Life sometimes (or often?) has unexpected twists in its pocket, where your plans do not come true (Sorry, Hannibal). One of my plans was to stick with my job until the end of times. Well, it shall not be. Doing lots of job interviews for once is thrilling on the other side it is a bit exhausting. In the past two weeks I got to know quite a lot of new people in the business, and it really were great talks with great people. Still, there is a time where one needs to reflect and rest one's mind. Where am I aiming? Well, I needed something to ease my brain, cool it down, chill it out. Last week, it was very much on the easy side (some say it was too easy). This time, it's less easy but more chill. Have a fun and relaxing time with tracks by Bluetech & Steve Moore (Liminal Migration), M'elle Louise(Amedeo), Michael Whalen (Future Shock), David Wright (The Lost Colony), Humus Hummus (Made Of Elektroniks), Eonlake (Magic Window Session), Stan Dart (Basilica), Infinite Third (Living Moments Vol. 3).

What a smooth and calm week this was on my side. And I met people on the way that made quite a difference in how I see and understand what work can be. Well, as I am still in the transition of finding a new purpose in life, for tonight I decided to have a mind gets peace party. Exactly, it's an evening with ambient music. Well, ambient can get a bit exciting, like when tribal sounds enter the realm or space travel gets a bit bumpy, so it's never always only soundscapes on the floor. But you will be able to close your eyes and switch off to take part in the journey of thoughts. Join me, well ya? Let's have a nice and smooth ride with tracks by Wellengärtner (Solar System), jarguna (Animas-k), Deborah Martin & Jill Haley (The Silence Of Grace), Willebrant and M.NOMIZED (MidnightRadio Compilation 104), Kieran Mahon (Blue Scream), IcingWolf (Desert Space), Volker Lankow (Music For Boring Times - Part 2).

Recently, someonesaid that 7 month of winter is enough. I do agree. A cannot remember a day without rain or higher temperatures in the past weeks. Well, while I cannot change the weather, I can definitely change the pace of sounds on syndae and, hopefully, the overall mood. And quite a salmagundi you get tonight. Very cool tunes, of course. And a pointer to an online concert (or rather online album premiere) with Bernhard Wöstheinrich. Join me for some musical adventures with sounds by Lisa Gerrard and Jules Maxwell (Burn), Otarion (No Time was lost), Home Brewed Universe (Cover Chronicles), Eonlake (Magic Window Session), Simon Klee (Blue Scream), Nefon Tapes & Potential DifferenSe (Tenth Listen), Erez Yaary (Memoria Technica), Johan Agebjörn & Mikael Ögren (Artefact), Bernhard Wöstheinrich (Magnet).

So, I honestly don't know, what to write about tonight. I had a very mixed week, ranging from great talks and plans for more talks. Over re-joining the jury for the Schallwelle awards. Up to some sad news via a friend living abroad. So what is it gonna be? When I planned the show for tonight, I firstly had no idea what kind of music to play with having such a mixed time. I guess, putting the beats in serves both ways. For once, you can get lost in the rhythms for celebration. And second, you can get lost in the rhythms for dampening sad thoughts. Either way, this show may give a little bit of sunshine to anyone in any situation. Get into the beats with dvidevat and Nulla (068/078-1), Osiris4 (Contrast), Information Ghetto (Magnetic Position), Tracya (Mirrorman), Gus Till (Ghosts of the Earth), Marie Wilhelmine Anders (Travels), Steve Moore + Bluetech (Liminal Migration), DeeperNET (One).

Did I tell you that I am following a bunch of channels on Youtube? Ah, yes, I did. Well, there is that one music channel with an "old dude", actually quite a successful producer and musician himself, who occasionally also has some stories on younger musical history. Something that caught my ears was him saying that while back in the 70s and 80s artists and bands tend to compose their music themselves. So it was about one, two or three people involved in creating a new song. And those songs were rather complex as well, with unusual chord progressions and therefore more complex melodies. Nowadays, though, songs are rather simple, most having a typical chord progressions like I-V-vi-IV. The crazy thing is, that many of those songs are written by more than a handful of people, and one often sees 9 to 11 songwriters named for just one simple song. Strange worlds. And I can tell you, not at all with music in ambient and electronic you will get on syndae. For sure the advantage of mostly independent artists. So join me for really cool music by Erik Wøllo (North Star), Majestica (Spire), Johan Agebjörn & Mikael Ögren (Artefact), Divine Matrix (Heart Of The Shaman), Holeg Spies (Supramyth), Shunia (Shunia), 2002 (Hummingbird), Iyari (Ayni), Lord Of The Ants (We Too Are Gods), David Helpling & Jon Jenkins (The Crossing).

The past days were so hot, there is no way I can play beat driven music tonight. Ambient it is. And there is a good reason to have it on the show anyway, which kind of has two parts tonight. The first half will have some cool recent and brand new albums whereof I have tracks for you. These are by Curious Inversions (LP24 Incorporated), Shinpal (Blue Stories), Ross Christopher (Apophenia), Bart Hawkins (Vision Of Eden), and Forest Robots (Amongst A Landscape Of Spiritual Reckoning). The second half is dedicated to the brand new compilation by Legacy of Thought that got released right today. It's all about the far future and events predicted to happen on earth. Well, amongst others, it features a track by myself, which is reason enough. I'm not playing that one, though, but five selected tracks of the 13 ones on the album. These are the contributions by Andawan, The Broken Cradle, Ambient Indigo, K37, and Time Away.

When I grew up, there was no internet (yeah, I am old). The only source of music were radio and tv (and concerts of course). Coincidentally, at the same time the electronic music movement grew up, which caught my intention in the 80s with the one and only Schwingungen radio show. Yes, this kind of music was played on public radio by the time. Listening to Berlin School music nowadays definitely reminds me of those good old radio times. And actually these times are kind of the reason for me doing this podcast. So how not to celebrate this style once and again at syndae? Tonight's the night, and it's all freshly released music as well. From artist picking up the baton from the past and pushing it into the modern times. Join me, will you? And listen to these fantastic tracks by Jon Durant & Stephan Thelen (Crossings), Frank Tischer & Mac of BIOnighT (Coordinates), Fratoroler (Berlin), Uwe Rechzeh (Voyage), Shaping Mind and Martin Lüders (Schwebende Musik).

Relax, let’s do it. Even if Frankie won’t go to Hollywood. It’s definitely the time of the year to go for recreation and leave all the stress behind. I bet you’ve earned it, too. So, lean back, drop into your hammock and rest. Now, a couch will do fine as well. Or a bed. Or… Ok, the important thing is to listen to great music that has the chill factor. and there is quite a bunch of those on tonight’s edition. Have some outstanding listening time with Manila Ice (She wants me dead), David Gerard (The Anxious Beating Of My Tensile Heart), Equanimous & Kaya Project (Mystic Dreaming), M’elle Louise (Deliverance), Bop (Matters of the Heart), Jong (Meeting Elea), Jens Radig (Schwebende Musik), elektrojudas (virus), Joao Ceser (Fiumi.brz), Banco de Gaia (Apollo).

Once and again philosophers raise the question, whether everything you experience is simply an illusion made up by your mind. Whatever that mind might be then. Recently I saw a science report on how we perceive our environment. All fact based science, but in the end it leaves one with the question, whether life actually is an illusion. Most of what we experience is what the brain makes out of it. Especially, as it does have no proof whatsoever about all the visual, aural, or nasal stimuli it gets. So it gets trained by what it makes out of it and builds up on what others tell (or what it thinks they tell and what it means). One can get crazy thinking about this all. So, whether the music you hear on this show is actually the same others will hear, you will never know. But you will definitely find out if you like it. And it’s great music (at least to me) coming from Nigel Mullaney (Matters Of The Heart), Divine Matrix (Heart Of The Shaman), elektrojudas (virus), Bilbosa (Ayla), Dynatron (Surveillance), Jong (Meeting Elea), Alan Elettronico (Electric Mind), Oliva (Lilith and the Garden of Eden), Kanz (Remind me Tomorrow), Axess (Time Traveller).

One week and one internet fluke later, here comes a brand new edition of your beloved show. As always, I am really happy about the music to be on this edition, a mix of good old friends and brand new names. Well, I have been quite lucky otherwise, had some nice little vacation with my wife and started a new job with cool new colleagues. Looking forward to the rest of the year. And wishing all those a heads up who weren't so lucky in the last weeks heavy rainfalls, which was quite close to my place, too. Hope you will all be fine. So this is a let's go forward and good luck edition with fantastic music by Seifert & Steinbüchel (Missions), Michael L. Rogers (Energy Transformation), Ivan Black (The Green Ray), Colin Rayment (Polyphonic Memories), Data Rebel and Martin Nonstatic (Matters Of The Heart), Michael Brückner (Recycled Life), Rupert Lally (Beyond The Night).

These times are so complex and chaotic, it's incredible. Last week I mentioned the storm over Western Germany (which also hit Belgium quiet hard). I did not mention thatmy wife and I were on the way south on the road, when the rain got so strong that I could barely see the next car in front of me. Luckily, we decided to stop and return home. Not all of you were so lucky. For example Bernd "moonbooter" Scholl, who suffered quite some loss. If you like to support, buy at MellowJet's bandcamp page, which will also support the artists of the label. Well, also a bit "chaotic", at least style-wise, comes tonight's edition of syndae. Hope you will enjoy this mix with tracks by moonbooter (Beyond the Neon Lights), Wellenfeld (The Journey of Voyager 1), Anna B. May (Awareness), mōshonsensu (Solemn Grandeur), Static Dreamscapes (Ayni Despacho), Caballero (Soul Sparkle), Johannes Linstead (Bohemian Strings), Lisa Gerrard and Jules Maxwell (Burn), Congas Atlas (Congas Atlas), Erik Wøllo (Winter Tide: Live at SoundQuest Fest 2021).

It's been a not too busy week, with so many people being on vacation these days. But it is always a good choice to have some rather peaceful music at hand. Either if one stayed at home, had a workful week, or being far away and relishing the scenery. Ok, it's not the most serene edition you heard on syndae, as I could not resist to throw in some beats. But that's the fun of it, isn't it? Having 60 minutes of drifting and lifting music with turns and twists in between. But listen for yourself and join me with great tracks by Ambiente Solstice (Abandoned Peace), Seifert & Steinbüchel (Missions), Klangzaun, Jon Durant & Stephan Thelen (Crossings), Ivan Black (Optophone), Gonzini Gonz (The Cousin Silas Emporium Members Project Volume 16), Joerg Dankert (Restore Faith), Mark Seelig (The Disciple’s Meditation).

Since short after the start, several of the cool tracks on syndae come from netlabels. They have been around for quite some while now, providing a platform for independent artist to publish and distribute their music. Most times, these netlabel offerings are free or name your price albums, so you can usually give what you think the music is worth. And it definitely is worth something. The quality of many of those releases are really good and the music spans various genres, so it never gets boring. On the 14th of July they celebrate Netlabel Day. Quite a bunch of publications from Netlabels on this day. And tonight, we feature a fitting collection of them. Enjoy an hour of diverse tunes by Mad Steppers & Dubsezion (Dub Free Vol. Cool, Olympic (For the Sea), Terranigma & dvidevat (Access Frame: Monstrosity), Sonny Monk (Time is Art), tinarao & Better than matter & 5.45 (Netlabel Day 2021), Mr. Hoosteen ft. Beca Jon & STEB (To All Our Friends & Family), Tomoroh Hidari (The Reinterpretation of Dreams).

There is some tunnel at the light of the end.. erm... or something like it. So I have seen some live music festivals being planned for the next months for the music we love. Not that it always holds, as one already has been cancelled. But some smaller events are coming up, like tiny concert series at the Güterhallen in Solingen, where Stefan Erbe will play life this Sunday (if the weather holds) and Martin Stürtzer the week after. And then there is the second installment of the empulsiv online festival coming up on 3rd of September. Ok, not real-live but live on video, where you will experience fresh music by Däcker, Dayflight, Pete Farn, Rene van der Wouden, Skoulaman, Suriya, and Stefan Erbe. Three of those are on tonight's edition. But there is more great stuff celebrating the golden age of electronic music with tracks by Peter Mergener (Astronaut), Chronotope Project (Gnosis), Jim Ottaway (Threshold Of The Universe), Lisa Bella Donna (Moogmentum), Michael Brückner (Recycled Life), Stefan Erbe (Selectronisch Vol. 1), Däcker (Pareidolia), René van der Wouden (Electronic Improvisations on Shimmer Winter Days).

So this was a rather busy week. How was yours? What a nice coincidence that I planned for a quieter edition of syndae tonight. Yes, time to relax a bit with beautiful melodic tracks, just what I need after an exciting week. And there are some really cool tunes in for the 60 minutes. Brand new stuff not even released yet as well as excellent music from earlier this century. Last week we had the golden times, which also are refering to musical styles from the past. Maybe it's the theme for this show. Or maybe not. We'll hear next week. But for now, let's relish outstanding tracks by Mark Isham & Michael Whalen (myndstream Collection Volume 1), Will Ackerman & Jeff Oster & Tom Eaton (Brothers), Ciro Hurtado (Luna), ELEON (Crossover), Клет (АЛКОНАВТ (Alconaut)), Ivan Black (The Green Ray), Bekki Williams (Shadow of the Wind), Andreas Baaden (Slow Down), Bernd Kistenmacher (Antimatter).

Another week gone, and I barely remember it. Looking at my calendar, it was quite a busy week. But it does not feel like it. Strange. However, when my calendar says so, there can only be one choice in music... err... which is either ambient or dance-ish. Ok, well, last week it was all about relaxation, this week we will treat the body with some beats. Which is very fitting, as I just compiled a track list that fits my requirements. How accidental. Oh, and then there is a live festival coming up in Fulda, Germany. If you are interested and can make it, simply go for a trip. It's several days the week from September 10th. Take your pick. I have a teaser track amongst the fine music tonight, which features music by Gabriel Le Mar (Into Sonic States), Crennwiick (The World's Recreation), CAIN & Tomchilla (Santosha), Caballero (Soul Sparkle), Dusk Horizon (El Golfo), Flavio Deff aka Dj Home (Onde Elettroniche), DJ_Iterate (FOURTH WORLD IS - Jon Hassell Tribute), Oriom / 70db (Venus Void).

It's the dream of many people from western states: riding the Trans-Siberian Express. It's quite a journey, usually starting in Moscow running all along Southern Russia, sometimes touching China, over to Krasnojarsk far east. Actually, asking local people using this train, they do not understand how one can ride it "for fun". It's not the most comfortable journy and takes days from one end to the other. The view, though, is partially stunning and very unusual for western people. And, of course, it's kind of an adventure travelling this route seemingly forever. Now, on tonight's special edition I present the latest compilation by Legacy of Thought, focusing on this railway line. Here you will get tracks by Cosmic Cadence, AndAWan, Talking to Ghosts, Wane of Summer, Tolubai, Big Beech, BlauDisS and K37. Furthermore, you will get additional tracks from the past by Johan Agebjörn (The Mountain Lake) and Tangerine Dream (Views From A Red Train).

As most of you well know, from time to time I simply love some quieter sessions to shut me down from the world. There definitely were some gruelling days this week, so it's well earned, too. So here we go. And it's not just any choice of serene music, but some of the best I had on the show yet. As always, recent, current and upcoming releases are waiting to be heard by you. Joii me for some excellent time out with music by Jim Ottaway (Threshold Of The Universe), Cousin Silas (Dreamsville), Frore & Shane Morris (Horizon), Oceanographer (Nectar), City of Dawn & Sherry Finzer (Solace), Wellengärtner (Route To Harmony), Time Away and Progeny -1 (Trans-Siberian Express), EISENLAGER (In·s·tal·la·ti·on).

One of the craziest weeks for me just ends. Which needs quite some room for my brain to be readjusted and freed from the common. Nothing better to do so than having some sounds and beats from the more experimental corners of electronics. And it's always very entertaining and thrilling to follow rather unusual paths in music and sound design standing and newer artists come up with. Rest assured that we are not drifting off too far and the music is still well listenable and within the range of syndae. And so are the artists, most of which where on syndae before in one or the other constellation. Enjoy a suspenseful hour with music by 4T Thieves (Fame is an Addiction), Gašper Torkar (Accept the Risk and Continue), Brainquake feat. Humanfobia (Excess Denied), Sonic Research Society (Drifting Forward), Zyklus (Stimulacra), Mixtaped Monk (Kaleidoscopic Desires), Steve Hadfield (Industrial Chillout Complex), Andy Morello (Modular Cuisine), m00m (Sun Rise), Mitoma (Fragments).

The thrill is on
