Anyone know how to roll it back to an earlier os/driver? on 1.62 and wondering if 1.4 is safer if I can get it to work on Win10

Cheers

Looks like I need a 32bit computer. Sad

Anyone managed to do it on 64bit windows 10?

I'm facing the same issue.
I've read that 1.40 doesn't corrupt files.
If I understand right, a 32 bit Win is needed to upgrade (downgrade) to 1.40, but a 64 bit is ok to run the editor ?

Yeah have heard the same.

While I try to find an ancient device, I've been just saving to my pc disks and I don't mind it at all actually, thought it was going to really bug me but there are some upsides.

So now I just hit CTRL+S to save, either overwriting existing file or prompting a dialog box. Can use content folders, with names rather than just remembering what different banks are for.

Once I progress from the computer to the board, I just save exclusively from the hardware and then backup to the stored file before switching off.

Still it be nice if everything played ball but it's really not that bad at all.

Thanks for the answer. I don't see anything really important in the release notes. What are you losing when downgrading from 1.62 to 1.40 ?

Hi,

Bit of an update, finally decided to roll back the machine to 1.4 using a virtual 32bit win xp installation, from within 64bit win10 and it bloody worked!

You need to follow this to setup a virtual winxp machine:

https://helpdeskgeek.com/virtualization/how-to-set-up-a-windows-xp-virtual-machine-for-free/amp/

Then this to get the v1.4 editor installer and 1.00 usb drivers:

https://carleton.ca/scs/tech-support/virtual-machines/transferring-files-to-and-from-virtual-machines/#:~:text=and%20being%20shared.-,Dragging%20and%20Dropping%20Files%20in%20VirtualBox,sure%20that%20Bidirectional%20is%20selected.

Get 1.4 and 1.00 usb from here:

https://www.electro-music.com/forum/topic-32310.html

Good luck. Took a bit of faffing around and maybe an hour or so tops.

See above, if you're still trying to do this.

Btw am back in win10 now, using 1.62 64bit drivers etc in win10 but the machine itself is back on 1.4.

This was my first time messing with virtual machines and its easier than I would have guessed it would be.

Thanks for the update.
I revert back to 1.4 as well, and didn't regret.
