To make my life a little harder I'm following Rob Hordijk's and Roland Kuit's Tips & Tricks course for the NM on Clavia's website and "translate" them into G2 patches.

It's almost a whole book for free (thanks) and it would be a pity if it would just sit there. After all, there are some G2 beginners, too...

So, here are the first 10 pch/pch2es. I've included the original ones, I hope this is not a copyright problem.

I still don't really know how to solve the master/slave ratio thing I mentioned on the forum. I haven't read through the whole forum yet, I'm sure there's something about it there. Rob helped to solve one problem, but I found out I've got three. I know it doesn't work the way it is like right now (and it really doesn't sound Hordijesk), maybe somebody wants to take a look at it. The original file is still Here:

Here are the next 13 ones. I drastically changed the appearance of 3phase's Spectral Osc (I hope you don't mind), so maybe the calculation order is wrong (in that case you do, I'm afraid).

I might add, that I never owned a NM, but it sounds alright to my ears. Please take this rather as proposals, not as solutions.

Sebastian

March 27th: some more. Holidays are over, so this is it.

I finally completed the conversion of the "Basics of sound synthesis on the Nord Modular" patches. I omitted the last, "complete" one, since I suppose it makes more sense going on with the other examples.

Maybe we should wait for the converter? Smile

Don't thank me, I'm doing this for my own educational sake. If only there'd be something like this for the G2...

And I hope Rob don't mind.

Good to hear that.

But once again: these patches are in no way to be taken as granted, as the attached crime scene proves.

A beautiful patch, murdered by a beginner.

Aha, that's your name here! Thanks a lot!

If I only knew the old and new ones sounded alike. Damn, I miss an explicit G2 workshop like these great ones.

Maybe I should've done
www.xs4all.nl/~rhordijk/G2Pages/index.htm first.

So, I've had my holiday. Took the Nordy with me and convinced my girlfriend that I'm having a better time inside with the computer that outside tanning. Funny thing: she turned red, not me?!
All these are first runs, meaning that looking at the workshop a second time I find I find much smarter solutions and doing it the third time is the real thing to do on a G2.
So, these first timers are still quite unwise, lots of room for improvement and only ment as hints in your own way through the NM-G2 jungle.

Find attached the AM and RM-workshop. The delay modules seem to be too different to do that workshop, too.

And this means: That's it, folks. cheers About 165 patches, some educational, some cool, some weird 'cause I screwed up. I like the last ones best.

Thanks to Rob Hordijk and Roland Kuit for learning so much. I know the NM better than my own synth now Confused. Looking forward to patch original G2-patches.

So: right on, show me the way to the archives and let's see what surprise and shakng2 and elephant-patches we've got there.

Best,
sebber

Congratulations and thank you, Sebber. You have done a superb job. This will certainly help many people learn more about patching and synthesis.

BRAVO!
