Hi,

It may be problem, but more likely a misunderstanding on my part.

I've been playing around with sending ctrl values to control values of knobs in patches. My understanding was that if I set the destination of a CtrlSend module to "This" it would route the control signal to the current patch in "This" slot.

I've tried this and it doesn't seem to work.

But if I load the patch into slot A and set the destination to "Slot A" it works.

If attached a simple patch if anybody fancies having a look and explaining whats going on ?

Cheers

Matt

"this" refers to the MIDI port the slot is currently associated with. It sends to / receives from the external MIDI port and it can't be used for routing internal MIDI (unless you ecternally connect MIDI in to MIDI out).

The solution you found of using "slot A" etc. is the only thing that works for the purpose if sending MIDI around internally.

The clumsiness of this has been brought to the attention of Clavia.

Ahh .. I see.

That's not very clear from the documentation.

Cheers for the info.

Yes, it's not very clear and it has a big problem too. If you want to control your patch with internally generated MIDI then the patch will only work in one of the four slots! Mad

Sometimes you'll see people mention on their patches they post here, "This patch only works itn SLOT B", or something similar. Very ugly, or as the kids would say, GROSS. puker
