Oh yay! Oh Yay!

Okay people listen up. Any suggestions about your forum- please don't hesitate to post here or PM me if you want to keep it private :) I want this to be a really cool place to 'hang out'- if it isn't that already!

your ever listening pocket moderator :D

Maybe were getting to the stage where the SL forum needs some sub forums. I mean the best thing about having a dedicated moderator is that someone local can put everything in the right place. The reason Mosc asked for a moderator was that there was some confusion about where something was,... yeah?
For example: -
1. So you want to build a Sound Lab (to help out complete beginners, sort which tools to buy etc)
2. Where do I get parts (everything parts related)
3. Smokin! (when good Sound Lab times turn bad. Trouble shooting etc)
4. Where to from here (everything that can be added to the sound lab, patching out, extra boards, mods, controllers etc)
I'm sure you can all come up with extra stuff. I am aware that some of these issues are addressed in the other forums, but I'm taking the view that there are some of us who only have time/motivation to keep up with everything SL. (i.e. I'm not meaning to sound elitist)

Andrew, all these issues I have already raised with Mosc.

You could have been moderator- but chose not to be. I too have very young children- one who is barely 1 month old. On top of this I have just started a degree (BSc) in engineering- so my main concern are these things and not necessarily E-M immediately. Please be patient as it is Mosc who sets these things up- not me. I am just 'the middle man'.

Right now Mosc is in the middle of changing over servers- as the existing one has come to almost an end. Until then you'll (we'll) have to stay put, be patient and wait.

best,

Tom

Hey Tom,
I wasn't saying I want anyone to bring me my pipe and slippers!
I was just using 5mins to bounce some ideas around. I appreciate that you are just as busy (if not more so) than anyone else. You did ask for suggestions though. I'm not demanding these things happen tommorrow..........

A week from next Tuesday will do just fine Wink Smile

Cold beer?
Yes, beer, what a wonderful philosophy you have. Twisted Evil
Hmmm (Mr Burns voice on) Ex-cel-lent (Mr Burns voice off)
I think I'll go get me some of that cold beer right now.

Don't worry Stein, it's all good.

Been busy hacking the new forum and rebuilding my computers here.

Anyway, Sound Lab sub-forums are cool. You guys just come up with them and I'll install them It's not very difficult to do. The only thing is I want to wait until the new software is installed. I'm thinking I'll do that today. There will be some downtime as this will require a lot of manual database fixes and stuff.

So, I'm saying, the hard part is coming up with the schema for the subforums. If you have a SL music subforum, then I'll want that to be a link to the Online Music subforum, so the music will be availabe to the huge general audience of electro-music.com Laughing .

i think you sould put pics of the components next to the components description. Smile
it would be very easy to pepole like me that dose not know the components run to the store several times.
what do you think?
like in here :
http://www.ladyada.net/make/x0xb0x/fab/parts.html

and i'm still not sure that i bought the right capacitors.. :S
