anyone can help me about the soundlab |

dear friend
i'm a student in electrical enginering in sekolah tinggi teknologi telkom in bandung, indonesia. now i have been making the soundlab as my final project in my study. i have any question about the soundlab. the question is about the parameter of the circuit which is described in soundlab. such as requency range in any schematic part. how about voltage and current range in VCO, VCA, VCF which could make this soudlab work finely.
actually i have been finishing my soundlab, but my teacher ask me about the parameter. anyone can help me.

Hi Yunuz,
Welcome to the electro-music forum.
I think what you're asking is, what the normal operating parameters for the Soundlab circuit are. Tell me if that's correct or not.
I'll try to tell you what I know. (If anyone out there can think of anything I've missed or mucked up please don't hesitate to correct me!!)
Different sections of the circuit could handle different voltage and current ranges, but generally the power supply needs to be symmetrical and somewhere between +/-9V and +/-12V. I'm pretty sure it will not handle a +/-15V supply, and the noise generator at least will not work properly below +/-9V.
The Control Voltages are all assumed to be between 0V and +9V, the VCO is a 1V/Octave type, and can be refined to make this tracking ratio fairly accurate.
The Gate and/or Trigger signals should be at least 0->5V and can handle the 0->12V found on some older synths.
I'm pretty sure the total current consumption is around the 10-15mA mark.
I'll leave it at that for now, and see if anyone else chimes in with some useful info.

Also I found out that the current is more like 10-15mA.

There is no frequency input really, as the Soundlab cannot track an external frequency source. You can inject a guitar or similar signal into the VCF stage and control it's cutoff/resonance/AR but that's all. The VCOs won't follow its frequency. _________________ What makes a space ours, is what we put there, and what we do there. |

i did once put a bycicle dynamo signal into the CV in of vco1 ( it was on its own a stripboard version ) and plugged it into the amp and it came out with ploppy sounds .
dont ask my why i had a bike on stilts in my room i just did!! |
