Micron--Phrase sequencer?

I notice that the new Alesis Micron will have a phrase sequencer.

What exactly is a phrase sequencer? Is it like a step sequencer that allows you to play a sequence of notes per step?

There's no way the Micron will have a phrase sampler.
It just doesn't have the architecture for it.
What they mean by phrase sequencer is probably a step sequencer, which is triggered and transposed by playing the keys. Possibly you could have different sequences triggered by different keys, but I wouldn't count on it.

Key transpose! The old Roland CSQ-100 and CSQ-600 had key transpose! Great fun!

Yes, that's the way the step sequencer on the Andromeda works.
e.g. if you hold down three keys, it will play all three transpositions of the sequence.
