WSG questions

Firstly, hi everyone I've been lurking for a few days and picked up lots of info, not least of which is the fact everyone here seems brill Very Happy

I'm looking to make a WSG using Uncle Krunkus's stripboard layout (this'll be the second project of my electronics renaissance - the first was a CMoy Headphone Amp, see http://tangentsoft.net/audio/cmoy-tutorial/), and I had a few questions before diving in....

- there seem to be some differences between component specs, for instance C10 is listed as 1uF ceramic cap (original) and 2.2uF non-polarised electrolytic (Krunkus), is there a reason for these differences and does it matter what is used (my electronics knowledge does not stretch as far as to explain the difference between a non polarised electrolytic and a ceramic capacitor)

- could anyone do a quick ms paint job on the stripboard layout to indicate where a volume pot and power status led should be added (I'm a sucker for lights coming on when stuff is switched on)

More questions no doubt to follow, but this should get me to Maplin's and back.... Rolling Eyes
