Nord Lead 1 hangs on startup |
 |
|
I purchased a second hand Nord Lead 1. Now that I am at home I am trying to test it but immediately encounter a problem. When I switch the unit on, a message appears on the display stating "1.2". That message stays on the screen, none of the lights and buttons will work. The keyboard is responsive and I can get sound out of the headphone output but I am not able to change any sounds or load other presets.
After a while of playing and randomly pushing buttons it suddenly came to life and worked for a while. Once I turned the unit on and off again, the old problem came back. I am stuck again with the "1.2" message and nothing else.
Any suggestions are welcome!
Thanks in advance |

Are there any stickers attached to the panel, like Arpeggiator Destination, Filter Type and Panic? If not the panel gives a very old Version V1.2 and it could mean there is no Expansion board installed and there could be something wrong with the Wheel or PitchStick... (Normally the display shows: 1.2 > E > rA or nL...
Open the synth (see http://electro-music.com/forum/post-211756.html#211756 first post) and check all connectors, special the Wheel and Stick.

Thank you very much. Turns out the problem lies with the connection between motherboard and controller board (basically the cable connecting the bottom of the synth with the top).
With a bit of playing around with the cable I can get it to work, will try a new cable...
