This is a question about the Simple VCA.

Is it's response linear or logarithmic?

I would like the ability to switch between linear and logarithmic response -- was just wondering if such a mod would be possible or practical with this design.

It's linear only.
To have it working exponentially it would require adding an OPA and a transistor.
