ok ill start by checking out my pot wiring.
couple of clarifications there:
if im looking at the dual gang 1M pot from the top (not the backside), the solder lugs are 1-2-3 on the top row and 4-5-6 ...

so is this kind of a max/min circuit with an adjustable center?

just confirmed from ian that you can use 100k multi-turn pots for both the damping and the drive pots.

however, since the damping pot is changing from 1M to 100k, you need to change R7 to 470 Ohm. ...
