hey, i'm having trouble finding the exact values for some caps and resistors.
will my sound lab work if i use the other values instead (to the left are the original values, to the right the ones i could find)

ceramic capacitors:
1 uF --> polyester cap 1uf
2 uF --> polyester cap 2uf

tantalum capacitor:
2 uF --> 2.2 uF

resistors:
20k --> 22k
2M --> 2.2M
3M --> 3.3M
475 ohm --> 470 ohm (for correct 1v/oct mod)
500 ohm --> 560 ohm
620 ohm --> 680 ohm

thanks!

I've used 2 uF tantalum and it wirks fine. I found 1 uF ceramic cap but for the 2uF I used two 1uF in parallell.

If you don't find 0,25W resistors with good values try the 0,6W resistors. There seem to be more values of those... Cool

From 0.6w resistors u can find right values easily. These works fine,
but use much more current. Also u can substitute caps as long value stay within 10%. I have almost all resistors 0.6w 1% and Soundlab works fine.

Just thought I should point out they don't use more current, they can handle more current before they burn. So over-rated resistors are always fine.
The 475-->470 is fine as it hangs off one side of the trimmer anyway, so the extra 5R can be dialled up later (if needed)
You can find 20K, 510R & 620R in the E24 series (1% metal wound usually follow this series)
Substituting polys for ceramic caps is fine.
And 2u2 is fine for a 2uF tant.
The 2M and the 3M I made by putting 1M*2 standing upright and 1M2+1M8 standing upright. I don't think they are that critical anyway, so 2M2 and 3M3 would probably be fine.

hthanks. i also did that for the 1M resistores. i add up 1M * 2 and 1M * 3
for 620k i added up 470k + 150k
and for the 500ohm i'll have to use 100 * 5, thats going to be a bit ugly though

For 500 Ohm you could use two 1 kOhm resistors in parallell, that's 500 Ohm too Cool

1000*1000/(1000+1000)=500

jejeje yea i didnt remember the parallel resistor calculation
is it?

R1 * R2 * RN

R1 + R2 + RN
